Christopher Ossai is a Nigerian boxer. He competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, and at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, both times in the lightweight class.

Leopoldo Cantancio was a Filipino boxer who competed for his native country at two Summer Olympics: 1984 and 1988. His best result was a fifth place tie at the 1984 Summer Olympics in the Men's Lightweight division. He won a silver medal at the 1986 Asian Games and a bronze medal at the 1990 Asian Games.

Asif Kamran Dar is a former boxer from Pakistan, competing in the lightweight division. He was born in Quetta.

José Antonio Hernando de Juana is a retired boxer from Spain, who represented his native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. There he was stopped in the quarterfinals of the lightweight division by Puerto Rico's eventual silver medalist Luis Ortiz.

Pernell Whitaker is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2001, and has since worked as a boxing trainer. He is a four-weight world champion, having won titles at lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight; the undisputed lightweight title; and the lineal lightweight and welterweight titles. In 1989, Whitaker was named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America. From 1993 to 1997, The Ring ranked him as the best active boxer in the world, pound for pound. He currently holds the longest unified lightweight championship reign in boxing history at 6 title defenses. Whitaker is generally regarded as one of the greatest defensive boxers of all-time.

Reiner Gies was a German boxer who won a Light Welterweight Bronze Medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics for West Germany. Four years earlier, when Los Angeles, California hosted the Games, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
