The Iceland men's national under-20 basketball team is the national representative for Iceland in men's international under-20 basketball tournaments. They are organized and run by the Icelandic Basketball Association. [1] The team competes at the FIBA U20 European Championship. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Iceland competed at the 2017 FIBA U20 European Championship [6] [7] [8] where the team made it to the final eight [9] [10] before bowing out against Israel. [11]

In 2019, Martin was named the Icelandic Men's Basketball Player of the Year for the fourth year in a row.

Nicolás "Nico" Richotti is an Argentine former professional basketball player. At a height of 1.84 m tall, he played at both the point guard and shooting guard positions, with shooting guard being his main position. His most successful stint came with CB 1939 Canarias where he won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup and the FIBA Champions League in 2017 as well as the Copa Príncipe de Asturias and LEB Oro in 2012. In 2021, he won the Icelandic Cup with Njarðvík.

The Tindastóll men's basketball team, commonly known as Tindastóll, is the men's basketball department of the Ungmennafélagið Tindastóll sport club. It is based in Sauðárkrókur, Iceland. As of the 2018–19 season it played in Úrvalsdeild karla. In 2015 and 2018, it was the runner up to the Icelandic national championship. On January 13, 2018, the club won its first major title when it beat KR in the Icelandic Basketball Cup finals. On 30 September 2018, Tindastóll defeated KR in the Icelandic Super Cup, 103-72.

Helena Sverrisdóttir is an Icelandic former basketball player. Generally considered the greatest Icelandic female basketball player of all time, she was named the Icelandic Women's Basketball Player of the Year 12 times. During her playing career, she won the Icelandic championship five times and the Slovak championship two times.

Finnur Freyr Stefánsson is an Icelandic professional basketball coach. He has served as an assistant coach to the Icelandic men's national basketball team from 2014, helping the team to EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017.

Körfuknattleiksdeild Þórs Þorlákshafnar is an Icelandic basketball club, commonly known as Þór Þorlákshöfn. It is a subdivision of Þór Þorlákshöfn multi sports club, based in the town of Þorlákshöfn in Iceland. It's men's team currently plays in Úrvalsdeild karla.

Tryggvi Snær Hlinason is an Icelandic professional basketball for Bilbao Basket of the Liga ACB. He began his career in his home country, competing with Þór Akureyri. Tryggvi is a regular member of the Icelandic national team, with experience at EuroBasket.

The 2017–18 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 67th season of the Úrvalsdeild, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on October 5, 2017 and ended on April 28, 2018. KR won its fifth title in a row by defeating Tindastóll 3–1 in the Finals.

Elvar Már Friðriksson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for PAOK Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League. He is also a member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He has twice been named to the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First team as a member of Njarðvík. In 2020, he won the Swedish championship with Borås Basket. In 2021, he was named the Lithuanian Basketball League MVP after leading the league in assists. He has been named the Icelandic Male Basketball Player of the Year three times in a row from 2021 to 2023.

Jón Axel Guðmundsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for CB Lucentum Alicante of the Spanish LEB Oro. He played college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats. He won two national championships with Grindavík in 2012 and 2013 and the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2014.

The 2019–20 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 69th season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 3 October 2019. On 13 March 2020, with each team having one game left, the season was postponed for at least four weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country. On 18 March, the rest of the season was canceled. Fjölnir was relegated and Stjarnan was named divisional champions for having the best record at the time of the cancelation but no national champions would be named for the season.

Tevin Alexander Falzon is a Maltese-American professional basketball player for Pallacanestro Palestrina of the Italian Serie B Basket. He played college basketball for the Sacred Heart Pioneers. He is also a member of the Maltese national team.

The 2020–21 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 70th season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 1 October 2020 and ended on 25 June 2021. Þór Þorlákshöfn won its first title by defeating Keflavík 3–1 in the Finals.

The Álftanes men's basketball team, commonly known as Álftanes, is the men's basketball department of Ungmennafélag Álftaness. It was founded in 2007.
