Larry Hedrick

Larry Hedrick (born December 12, 1940 - August 31, 2020) was an American businessman and former NASCAR team owner.

Born in North Carolina, in 1976, he formed Statesville Auto Auction, which became one of the largest and most profitable auto sales businesses until it was sold to Manheim Auctions in 1993. Hedrick also owned and operated Larry Hedrick Motorsports, a NASCAR team that debuted in 1990 with driver Larry Pearson. The following season, Hedrick signed Kellogg's Corn Flakes for a limited schedule. Pearson was released at the end of the season in favor of Greg Sacks.

Manheim Auctions joined the team as sponsor for 1993 with Dick Trickle and Phil Parsons sharing driving duties. The following year, Hedrick signed former Xfinity series champion Joe Nemechek for a run at Rookie of the Year. Nemechek left at season's end to run his own team and was replaced by Ricky Craven. Craven would go on to win Rookie of the Year in 1995.

In 1996, Craven earned five top-10 finishes before accepting an offer from Hendrick Motorsports. Steve Grissom became the team's driver in 1997 and sat on the outside pole at the season opening Daytona 500, earning six top 10s through the season—the most for Hedrick. In 1999, sponsor Kodiak moved to Melling Racing, leaving the team in search of sponsorship. In 2000 the team thought it had sponsorship from Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce, but the sponsor defaulted on the terms of its contract and the team shut its doors.

Additionally, the team has 26 Xfinity Series race wins, 26 Truck Series race wins, and 7 ARCA Menards Series race wins.

Richard Allen Craven is an American stock car racing analyst and former driver. Prior to his broadcasting duties, he was a NASCAR driver who won in four different series—the K&N Pro Series, and the three national series.

MB2 Motorsports was a NASCAR Cup Series team based in Mooresville, North Carolina, near the sport's hub in Charlotte. The team was founded by Read Morton, Tom Beard, and Nelson Bowers, from which the original team name were named after. Bowers was the longest tenured of the original owners, and the listed owner of the teams' entries when resort and real-estate developer Bobby Ginn bought out the team in 2007, renaming it to Ginn Racing for that season only. John Carter Racing was a NASCAR Sprint Cup team. It was owned by John Carter. Roger Craven and Dale Davis previously were co-owners of the team.

Travis Carter Enterprises was a NASCAR and USAR Pro Cup team. It was mostly owned by former crew chief Travis Carter and Carl Haas. The team previously fielded entries in the Winston Cup Series before closing. It returned in 2007 to field a full-time entry for rookie Kyle Krisiloff.

Andy Petree Racing (APR) was a NASCAR team that won 12 races. Originally formed in 1985 as Jackson Bros. Motorsports, its ownership changed hands several times over the years, with three different owners from its beginning to its closure in 2004. The team was based out of North Carolina, and was always a steady competitor for the win despite never winning a championship.

RAB Racing with Brack Maggard was an American professional stock car racing team that attempted NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Racing Series. The team was co-owned by Robert A. Benton Sr. and his son Robert Benton Jr. along with Georgia businessman Brack Maggard and ran from 2005 through 2014. The team won one race in the Xfinity Series, but never qualified for a Cup Series race in eight attempts.

Cale Yarborough Motorsports was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series team that ran from 1987 to 2000.

SBIII Motorsports is a former NASCAR Cup Series motor racing team. The team was owned by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania businessman Scott Barbour and fielded the No. 58 Ford Taurus during the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season. The team was named for Barbour's son and was painted black and yellow in honor of former Pittsburgh Steelers player Jack Lambert.

The NASCAR operation of Chip Ganassi Racing was established in 1989 by Cuban-American businessman Felix Sabates. The team was known as SABCO Racing, formed after Sabates purchased an R&D team from Hendrick Motorsports. The team was renamed Team SABCO in 1996. In 2001, Ganassi bought 80% of the ownership interest in the then-two-car team to form Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates; the same year the team switched from Chevrolet to Dodge. In 2009, Ganassi partnered with Dale Earnhardt, Inc. owner Teresa Earnhardt to merge their NASCAR operations into Ganassi's shop and entered under the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates banner, while returning to Chevrolet equipment. The NASCAR team dropped the Earnhardt name in 2014, and Ganassi revealed that Teresa was never truly involved with the team. Rob Kauffman, chairman of the Race Team Alliance, purchased a stake in the team in 2015. The NASCAR program has fielded full-time entries for notable drivers including Kyle Petty, Joe Nemechek, Sterling Marlin, Jimmy Spencer, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jamie McMurray, Kyle Larson, Kurt Busch, and Ross Chastain. After already having his name removed from the team previously, at the end of the 2019 season, Sabates announced his retirement as a co-owner from the team, taking effect after the 2020 season.
