He was born in Bolsward, Netherlands, but raised near Edmonton, Alberta.[citation needed] A forward and shooting right-handed, van Wieren joined the Den Haag Wolves in 1971 and played three seasons. After a year away from the Netherlands, he played 1975-6 with IJshockey Club Utrecht. Van Wieren then spent the next 9 seasons with Heerenveen Flyers. He best season offensively was his first with the Flyers, 1976-7, when he scored 42 goals and 106 points in 37 games. His second best was his second last, 1983-4, when he netted 40 and collected 57 assists for 97 points in 47 games.
At the Lake Placid Olympics, van Wieren, who led the team as Captain, played all 5 games, scoring a goal and four assists. The next year saw the Netherlands compete in Pool A at the IIHF World Championships. van Wieren collected a goal and 3 assists in 8 games.

Nicknamed "Peter the Great" and "Foppa", Forsberg was known for his on-ice vision and physical play, and is considered one of the greatest players of all time. Although his career was shortened by persistent injuries, as of 2021, he stands ninth all-time in career points-per-game and fifth all-time in career assists-per-game in the NHL, only behind Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Bobby Orr, and Connor McDavid. In 2017 Forsberg was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
Jeremy Shaffer Roenick ( ROH-nik; born January 17, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey player who played the majority of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 8th overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, for whom he played from 1988 to 1996. Roenick subsequently played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks over the course of his 20 NHL season career. He also represented Team USA in several international tournaments. On November 10, 2007, he became the third American-born player to score 500 goals. He is one of 46 players to have scored 500 goals, but he is one of five eligible players to not be a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. After retiring in 2009, Roenick joined NBC Sports as a hockey analyst from 2010-2020.
Jari Pekka Kurri is a Finnish former professional ice hockey player. Beginning in 1980, he played right wing for five National Hockey League (NHL) teams: the Edmonton Oilers, the Los Angeles Kings, the New York Rangers, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and the Colorado Avalanche. Kurri played 17 seasons in the NHL and was the first Finnish player to be enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame, in 2001. He was a member of a Stanley Cup–winning team five times, all with the Oilers. He is perhaps best remembered as Wayne Gretzky's foil. In 2017, Kurri was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
Simon Gagné is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He spent the first ten seasons of his NHL career with the Flyers (1999–2010), followed by one season with Tampa Bay (2010–11) and two with Los Angeles (2011–13), winning the Stanley Cup in 2012, before returning to Philadelphia via trade for the end of the lockout-shortened 2012–13 season. After not playing in 2013–14, Gagné signed with Boston, briefly playing for them before retiring in 2015.

During the playoffs, Anderson accumulated 93 goals, 121 assists, and 214 points, the fourth, ninth, and fourth most in NHL history. Anderson is also first all-time in regular season game winning goals in Oilers history with 72.
Sami Hannu Antero Kapanen is a Finnish former professional ice hockey coach and former player. He played 12 NHL seasons for the Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers. He is the majority owner of KalPa in the Finnish league. Kapanen's son, Kasperi Kapanen, is a member of the St. Louis Blues.

Mark Thomas Streit is a Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was formerly the captain of both the New York Islanders and the Swiss national team. Philip Joseph Kessel Jr. is an American professional ice hockey winger for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Claude Giroux is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Selected by the Flyers 22nd overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Giroux was named the Flyers' team captain in 2013, and became the longest-tenured captain in team history. Patrick Thoresen is a Norwegian professional ice hockey left winger who is currently playing for the Storhamar in the Fjordkraftligaen. He resides in Hamar, Norway, where he grew up, during the off season. He has a younger brother, Steffen who's also an ice hockey player. His father Petter was one of Norway's players who played at five Olympic Winter Games (1980–1994). Thoresen would follow in his father's footsteps and play in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.
