Now's the Time! is the nineteenth album released by Tony Christie. It was released in early 2011, on the Acid Jazz record label which had previously released recordings by Andy Bennett, Lord Large, and Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band. It was released on both the LP and CD formats.
After signing with the Acid Jazz label in 2010, [1] Christie's single "Nobody In The World" bw "Seven Hills " was released that year. [2] The single was a Northern Soul styled single. According to the Acid Jazz label, it was his first mod single since Shel Talmy produced him in 1966. An article in Scootering mentioned the single's inclusion the proposed 2011 Acid Jazz album release. [3] It was announced that the Northern Soul inspired album was to be released in January 2011. [4] Christie's nineteenth studio album, Now's the Time!, was released in the UK on 7 February 2011 through Acid Jazz. Produced by Richard Barrett of All Seeing I, it included collaborations with Jarvis Cocker and Róisín Murphy. [5] [6] The album includes the song "Get Christie", which is a spoof of Get Carter . [7]
Martin Townsend of the Daily Express gave it a favorable review, saying it oozed wit and style. [8] It got a favorable review from Pop Junkie with the reviewer saying it was nearly as good as his Made in Sheffield album. [9] Anorak gave it an 8/10 rating, singling out "Get Christie", "Nobody in the World" and the duet with Roisin Murphy for mention. [10] In his review of the album All Music's Jon O'Brien said that Christie could have made one of the best albums of his career. [11] In a review of Christie's Golden Anniversary Tour, and the songs performed, Graham Walker of the Sheffield Star mentioned that "Now Is The Time" which was on the album was a personal favorite of his. Anthony Fitzgerald, known professionally as Tony Christie, is an English musician and singer. He is best known for his recording of "(Is This the Way To) Amarillo", a double UK chart success.
Idlewild is the sixth and final studio album by American hip hop duo Outkast. After she and Mark Brydon dissolved their electronic music duo Moloko, Murphy began working with producer and musician Matthew Herbert. Overpowered was shortlisted for the 2007 Choice Music Prize in Murphy's native Ireland. As of May 2015, the album had sold 65,532 copies in the United Kingdom.
Brother Sister is an album by British acid jazz and funk group the Brand New Heavies, released on March 22, 1994 by Delicious Vinyl. It spawned several singles, including "Spend Some Time" which spent two weeks at number two on the American dance charts. A cover of Maria Muldaur's "Midnight at the Oasis" became popular in the UK, but was not included in the US version of the album.
Rough is Tina Turner's third solo studio album, released in September 1978 on the EMI label in the UK, Ariola Records in West Germany, and United Artists Records in the United States. Now or Never is the debut solo album by Nick Carter, best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys, released on October 29, 2002 by Jive Records.
