Ohio's 2nd senatorial district

Ohio's 2nd senatorial district has historically represented areas located in northwestern Ohio. It now stretches along the Great Lakes. A multi-county district, it currently comprises the counties of Erie, Ottawa and Wood, as well as, portions of the counties of Fulton and Lucas. It encompasses Ohio House of Representatives districts 3, 47 and 89. It has a Cook PVI of R+1. The seat has been held by Theresa Gavarone following her appointment in February 2019.

The district was represented by the Ohio Senate President from 1981 to 1982 and from 1985 to 1988 by Senator Paul Gillmor.

Jean Schmidt, the Republican Party candidate, defeated Democrat Paul Hackett, in a surprisingly close election as the district has not elected a Democrat since Tom Luken won a 1974 special election.

2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Ohio

The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Ohio were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 to elect the 16 U.S. Representatives from the state of Ohio, a loss of two seats following the 2010 United States Census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including a quadrennial presidential election and an election to the U.S. Senate.

Kristina Roegner is a member of the Ohio Senate, serving the 27th District since 2019. Her district encompasses suburban Akron, parts of Summit County, all of Wayne County, and parts of Stark County.

Bob Peterson is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Ohio Senate from the 17th District, where he currently serves as President Pro Tempore. It encompasses Ohio House districts 63, 64 and 99. It has a Cook PVI of D+12. Its current Ohio Senator is Republican Sandra O'Brien.

Ohio's 33rd senatorial district has historically been based in the Mahoning Valley. It now consists of the counties of Columbiana and Mahoning. It encompasses Ohio House of Representatives districts 5, 58 and 59. It has a Cook PVI of D+12. The district was represented by the Senate President from 1983 to 1984 with Senator Harry Meshel. Its current Ohio Senator is Republican Michael Rulli. He resides in Salem, a city located in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.

George F. Lang is an American politician and businessperson. In 2021 he became the state senator for Ohio's 4th senatorial district. He was previously the representative for the 52nd District of the Ohio House of Representatives. The district consists of West Chester Township, Liberty Township, Fairfield Township and part of the City of Sharonville, Ohio in Butler County.
