The Indonesian National Police Partners Communication Center (Sentra Komunikasi Mitra Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia, abbreviated and commonly known as Senkom Mitra Polri) are neighborhood watch groups in Indonesia that inform and assist the members of Indonesian National Police (Polri) in providing information and reporting any kind of public threats to the law enforcement.

Senkom Mitra Polri is a non-government organization established by members of the Security and Order Partners of the Police Headquarters on January 1, 2004, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Scope and Activities

As a police partner, Senkom coordinates and provides information to the legal authorities of either the central government, local government, or the military police about security or public order disturbances, matters of national stability, and any natural disasters occurring in areas where Senkom members are located.

Citizen Corps is a program under the Department of Homeland Security that provides training for the population of the United States to assist in the recovery after a disaster or terrorist attack. Each local Citizen Corps Council partners with organizations, volunteers and businesses to organize responders, volunteers and professional first responders for an efficient response so efforts are not wasted by being duplicated. By training in Incident Command, volunteers know whom to report to and how the incident is organized. In the morning of January 27, 2019, two bombs exploded at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu, Philippines. Twenty people were killed and 102 others injured. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Kanjuruhan Stadium disaster</span> Association football match disaster

On 1 October 2022, a fatal human crush occurred following an association football match at Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Following a loss by home side Arema to rivals Persebaya Surabaya, around 3,000 Arema supporters invaded the pitch. Police said the rioting supporters attacked the players and the team officials. The police attempted to protect the players and stop the riot but the crowds clashed with the security forces. In response, riot police units deployed tear gas, which triggered a stampede of people in the stadium trying to escape from the effects of the gas. A crush formed at an exit, resulting in fans being asphyxiated.
