UEFA Women's Euro 2001 qualifying

The qualification for the UEFA Women's Euro 2001 was held between 21 August 1999 & 28 November 2000. The first-placed of the group stage qualified directly. The second-placed and the third-placed teams played in two playoff matches for four other berths.

The 1996 Summer Olympics—based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States—marked the first time that women participated in the Olympic association football tournament. The tournament featured eight women's national teams from four continental confederations. The teams were drawn into two groups of four and each group played a round-robin tournament. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, beginning with the semi-finals and culminating with the gold medal match on August 1, 1996.

The 2013–14 UEFA Women's Champions League was the 13th edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held at Estádio do Restelo, Lisbon, Portugal.

The first round matches of the 2006–07 UEFA Cup were played on 14 and 28 September 2006, which narrowed clubs down to 40 teams in preparation for the group stage.

The first round of the 2002–03 UEFA Cup was contested between 17 September and 3 October 2002. A total of 96 teams participated in this round, with the 48 winners advancing to the second round.

This article contains the results of the Republic of Ireland women's national football team between 2000 and 2009. During the 2000s the Republic of Ireland competed in three UEFA Women's Championship qualification campaigns – 2001, 2005 and 2009 – and three FIFA Women's World Cup campaigns – 2003, 2007 and 2011. They also played in the 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Algarve Cups. The Republic of Ireland also went on three tours of the United States – 2004, 2006 and 2008. This effectively saw them promoted to the elite group of nations which competed directly for qualification to major tournaments.

Group E of the women's soccer tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics was played from 21 to 25 July 1996, and included hosts United States, China, Denmark and Sweden. The top two teams advanced to the Semi-finals.
