Madison Brengle is an American professional tennis player. Her biggest success occurred in early 2015, reaching her first WTA Tour final in January, followed by a fourth round Grand Slam appearance at the Australian Open. In May, she reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 35. Her greatest victory came in 2017 over world No. 2, Serena Williams. She has won two WTA Challenger singles titles, 15 ITF singles titles, and seven ITF doubles titles.

2012 Wimbledon Championships – Womens singles 2012 tennis event results

Serena Williams defeated Agnieszka Radwańska in the final, 6–1, 5–7, 6–2 to win the Ladies' Singles tennis title at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. It was her fifth Wimbledon singles title and her 14th major singles title overall. Radwańska became the first Pole to reach a major singles final in the Open Era.

Kateryna Bondarenko was the defending champion, but was no longer eligible to compete in the juniors this year.

Defending champion Serena Williams defeated Angelique Kerber in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the Ladies' Singles tennis title at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships. It was her seventh Wimbledon singles title and 22nd major singles title overall, equaling Steffi Graf's Open Era record. This was also the first time two women contested multiple major finals in a single season since Amélie Mauresmo and Justine Henin-Hardenne met in the 2006 Australian Open and Wimbledon finals. Williams lost just one set during the tournament, to Christina McHale in the second round.

Garbiñe Muguruza won her second Grand Slam singles title, defeating Venus Williams in the final, 7–5, 6–0 to win the Ladies' Singles tennis title at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Muguruza became the second Spanish woman to win Wimbledon after Conchita Martínez in 1994. Muguruza also became the first and only player to defeat both Williams sisters in Grand Slam singles finals. Muguruza dropped just one set the entire tournament, to Angelique Kerber in the fourth round. Serena Williams was the two-time defending champion, but did not participate this year due to pregnancy.

Angelique Kerber defeated Serena Williams in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the Ladies' Singles tennis title at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. It was her third major singles title, and she became the first German since Steffi Graf in 1996 to win the title. She lost only one set during the tournament, to Claire Liu in the second round. Williams was attempting to equal Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 major singles titles, and to become the first mother to win a major singles title since Kim Clijsters won the 2011 Australian Open.

Evgeniya Rodina and Arina Rodionova won the title by defeating Julia Cohen and Urszula Radwańska 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
