Andrew Graham Downton (born 17 July 1977 in Sydney,New South Wales) is an Australian cricketer,who played for the Tasmanian Tigers. He plays club cricket for South Hobart/Sandy Bay Cricket Club.
Andrew Downton had an impressive start to his first class career,taking 6/56 against the New South Wales Blues on debut. However he has since struggled to come back from injuries which saw him miss most of the 2004–05 season,and recapture his impressive initial form.

The Tasmanian cricket team, nicknamed the Tigers, represents the Australian state of Tasmania in cricket. They compete annually in the Australian domestic senior men's cricket season, which consists of the first-class Sheffield Shield and the limited overs Matador BBQs One-Day Cup.
Joseph Darling was an Australian cricketer who played 34 Test matches as a specialist batsman between 1894 and 1905. As captain, he led Australia in a total of 21 Tests, winning seven and losing four. In Test cricket, he scored 1,657 runs at an average of 28.56 per innings, including three centuries. Darling toured England four times with the Australian team—in 1896, 1899, 1902 and 1905; the last three tours as captain. He was captain of the Australian cricket team in England in 1902, widely recognised as one of the best teams in Australian cricket history.
Michael James Di Venuto is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who represented both Australia and Italy. The bulk of his first-class cricket career was spent playing for Tasmanian Tigers. After retiring from representative cricket in Australia, he continued playing for Durham County Cricket Club till July 2012, when he announced retirement from County Cricket. He has also previously played cricket in England for Derbyshire and Sussex. A left hand opening batsman, his form for Tasmania throughout the mid-1990s earned him a call up for the Australian national cricket team in the One Day International arena, although after nine games he was dropped. Like some of his contemporary Tasmanian teammates such as Jamie Cox, Dene Hills, and Shaun Young, Di Venuto can be considered unlucky to have not had a more successful international career, as he was playing at a time when the Australian national cricket team was highly dominant, and difficult to earn selection for. After retiring from Durham, he was appointed Australia's full-time batting coach by head coach Mickey Arthur, and was then head coach of Surrey from 2016 until 2020.
Paul Rupert Downton is the current Director of Cricket at Kent County Cricket Club. He had previously been the managing director of the England and Wales Cricket Board between February 2014 and April 2015.

Rodney James Tucker is an Australian cricket umpire, member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel and officiates in international Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He was a cricketer who played briefly for New South Wales from 1985/86 to 1987/88, before moving to Tasmania where he played from 1987/88 to 1998/99. He was also vice-captain of Tasmania from 1991/92 until 1995/96. He briefly played as Captain/Coach for the Canberra Comets in the 1999/2000 season before retiring from cricket as a player.
Nathan Wegman is an Australian former cricketer who played for Tasmania in 2007–08. He plays his club cricket for New Town Cricket Club. He is a tall fast bowler with a whipping action, who produces deceptive pace. In his debut List A match for the Tigers, Wegman bowled beautifully to take 4/44 off 8.5 overs, including the prized wicket of New South Wales captain Simon Katich.

Michael Philip Tame, is a former Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1984 to 1987. He also played in the Tasmanian Grade Cricket competition for Clarence District Cricket Club. He is the father of Grace Tame, Australian of the Year 2021.
Roland Shane Hyatt was an Australian former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1983 to 1986. He played for Clarence District Cricket Club in the Tasmanian Grade Cricket competition.
Ronald Orlando George Morrisby, was an Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1931 until 1952. He can be considered one of the most outstanding Tasmanian batsman of his era, and was unlucky never to be selected to play test cricket for Australia, despite having toured India with an Australian side. Morrisby was the 29th player to captain the Tasmanian first-class team, but was never able to lead them to victory. An exciting batsman with a preference for playing off the back foot, he played for South Hobart Cricket Club in the Tasmanian Grade Cricket competition, and still holds many records in that competition, including being the all-time leading run scorer.
Ricky Ponting is a former Australian international cricketer who was born on 19 December 1974. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the Australian cricket team against the South Africa cricket team in New Zealand at the age of 20 on 15 February 1995. The eldest of three children, Ponting emulated the feats of his father, playing cricket in summer and Australian rules football in winter, before breaking his arm while playing the latter sport for a junior North Launceston Football Club team as a 14-year-old. He was educated in the Tasmanian state school system, studying at Mowbray Heights Primary and Brooks High School.

George Herbert Bailey was an Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1873 to 1893 and for the Australian team in England and North America in 1878.
William Holden Walker was an English-born Australian cricketer. As captain of the Tasmanian cricket team, Walker was one of Tasmania's leading cricketers of his time. Known for his all-round capabilities, he was a right-handed batsman and an underarm bowler, as well as keeping wicket. Walker was named in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League's "Team of the Decade" for the decade spanning 1866–67 to 1875–76.
On 11 and 12 February 1851, teams from Van Diemen's Land and Port Phillip District played the first cricket match between two Australian colonies, recognised in later years as the inaugural first-class cricket match in Australia. It took place at the Launceston Racecourse, known now as the NTCA Ground, in Tasmania. The match was incorporated into celebrations marking the separation of the Port Phillip District from New South Wales in 1851 as the colony of Victoria.
Naomi Elizabeth Stalenberg is an Australian cricketer who plays a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She appeared in one T20I for Australia against India on 26 January 2016, but neither batted nor bowled in the match. She plays for the Tasmanian Tigers in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
