TenThousand Projects, LLC, doing business as 10K Projects, LLC, is an American record label founded in 2016. [1]
TenThousand Projects was founded by Elliot Grainge in 2016 [2] Elliot Grainge is the son of Lucian Grainge, chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group. Until 2023 distribution was handled by Virgin Music, a division of Universal Music Group. [3] This name was later shortened to 10K Projects.
In September 2023, it was announced that 10K Projects would move from Universal to Warner Music Group (WMG). [4] [5]
Parlophone Records Limited is a record label founded in Germany in 1896 by the Carl Lindström Company as Parlophon. The British branch of the label was founded on 8 August 1923 as the Parlophone Company Limited, which developed a reputation in the 1920s as a jazz record label. On 5 October 1926, the Columbia Graphophone Company acquired Parlophone's business, name, logo, and release library, and merged with the Gramophone Company on 31 March 1931 to become Electric & Musical Industries Limited (EMI). George Martin joined Parlophone in 1950 as assistant to Oscar Preuss, the label manager, taking over as manager in 1955. Martin produced and released a mix of recordings, including by comedian Peter Sellers, pianist Mrs Mills, and teen idol Adam Faith.

UMG's corporate headquarters are located in Hilversum, Netherlands and its operational headquarters are located in Santa Monica, California. In May 2011, the sale of WMG was announced; Bronfman would continue as CEO in the transaction. In August 2011, he became Chairman of the company as Stephen Cooper became CEO. Bronfman previously was CEO of Seagram and vice-chairman of Vivendi Universal. Bronfman Jr. expanded and later divested ownership of the Seagram Company, and also worked as a Broadway and film producer, and songwriter under the pseudonyms Junior Miles and Sam Roman. The label has been dormant since 2006, due to Universal Motown and Universal Republic Records being formed and taking all of the artists from it.
