Rita Frances Dove is an American poet and essayist. From 1993 to 1995, she served as Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress. She is the first African-American to have been appointed since the position was created by an act of Congress in 1986 from the previous "consultant in poetry" position (1937–86). Dove also received an appointment as "special consultant in poetry" for the Library of Congress's bicentennial year from 1999 to 2000. Dove is the second African American to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, in 1987, and she served as the Poet Laureate of Virginia from 2004 to 2006.
"When Doves Cry" is a song by American musician Prince, and the lead single from his 1984 album Purple Rain. It was a worldwide hit, and his first American number one single, topping the charts for five weeks. According to Billboard magazine, it was the top-selling single of the year. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, shipping two million units in the United States. It was the last single released by a solo artist to receive such certification before the certification requirements were lowered in 1989.

"The Crow, the Owl and the Dove" is the second single from the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish's seventh studio album Imaginaerum and was released on March 2, 2012. The single includes the unreleased song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First," a cover of the song with the same name from the film The Piano to which Nightwish added vocals, originally scored by Michael Nyman. The song was originally recorded in the Dark Passion Play sessions, but Nyman did not provide permission for the song to be released in time for album's release. The song debuted at number one in the Finnish Singles Chart.

Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope is the twenty-eighth studio album from country music singer Reba McEntire. The album was released on February 3, 2017, by Nash Icon/Rockin' R Records. McEntire produced the album with her musical director Doug Sisemore and Jay DeMarcus from the musical group Rascal Flatts. The album consists of two discs. The first disc is made up of traditional hymns, while the second disc is all original songs. Sounds Like Nashville proclaimed that “Sing It Now” made for a perfect segue from the standards to the newer material. McEntire wrote a song on the album "I Got the Lord on My Side" with the help of her mother Jackie McEntire. The album has also been released on LP.
