The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is the first expansion effort of World Series of Poker-branded poker tournaments outside the United States. Since 1970, participants had to travel to Las Vegas if they wanted to compete in the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Although the WSOP held circuit events in other locations, the main tournaments, which awarded bracelets to the winners, were exclusively held in Las Vegas. 2008 World Series of Poker Europe

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is the first expansion effort of World Series of Poker-branded poker tournaments outside the United States. Since 1970, participants have had to travel to Las Vegas if they wanted to compete in the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Although the WSOP held circuit events in other locations, the main tournaments, which awarded bracelets to the winners, were exclusively held in Las Vegas. The inaugural WSOPE, held in 2007, marked the first time that a WSOP bracelet was awarded outside Las Vegas.

The 2008 World Series of Poker was the 39th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). Held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, the 2008 series began on May 30 and featured 55 poker championships in several variants. All events but the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Texas hold 'em Main Event, the most prestigious of the WSOP events, ended by July 15. The final table, known as the November Nine, of the Main Event was suspended until November, to allow for better television coverage. As a WSOP custom since 1976, each of the event winners received a championship bracelet in addition to that event's prize money ranging from US$87,929 for the $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em to US$9,119,517 for the Main Event.

The 2011 World Series of Poker was the 42nd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). The WSOP is the most prestigious poker tournament in the world with the winner of the Main Event considered to be the World Champion. It was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada between May 31 – July 19, 2011. There were 59 bracelet events, beginning with the WSOP National Circuit Championship and culminating in the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship. The November Nine concept returned for a fourth consecutive year, with the Main Event finalists returning on November 6, playing down to three that evening and then adjourning until November 8.

David Bakes Baker is an American professional poker player who has won a World Series of Poker bracelet and appeared at four World Series of Poker final tables. He also has a Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) championship. Baker currently has over US$2 million in tournament winnings. In order to avoid confusion with David "ODB" Baker, he is listed in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) database by the name "David Bakes Baker" and listed at Bluff Magazine as "David (Bakes) Baker". Baker, who is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, attended Michigan State University before taking up poker.

David ODB Baker American poker player

David ODB Baker is an American professional poker player living in Sahuarita, Arizona, who has appeared at five World Series of Poker (WSOP) final tables. Baker currently has over $5.4 million in tournament winnings. Baker is an Auburn University alumnus.

The fifth World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) took place from October 7, 2011 to October 20, 2011. There were seven bracelet events, culminating in the €10,400 WSOPE Championship No-Limit Hold'em event. Events were held at the Majestic Barrière Cannes and the Le Croisette Casino Barrière in Cannes, France. The 7 official gold bracelet events were complemented by a total of 51 other events in the two-week schedule, the most prominent of which is the €550 Ladies only event. ESPN broadcast the Main Event on its worldwide television network, and all official gold bracelet events streamed live on WSOP.com.

The 2012 World Series of Poker was the 43rd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Paradise, Nevada between May 27-July 16, 2012, with the final table of the Main Event delayed until late October.

Konstantin Puchkov is a Russian poker player, horse trainer and horse breeder from Moscow. He was the fourth Russian-born player to earn a World Series of Poker bracelet. He is best known for having earned a World Series of Poker bracelet in his first World Series of Poker in the money finish and setting the record for most in the money finishes at one series during the 2012 World Series of Poker (11).

Greg Merson American poker player

Gregory Merson is an American professional poker player. Merson is best known as the winner of the Main Event at the 2012 World Series of Poker (WSOP). During the same year, he also won a WSOP bracelet in the $10,000 Six Handed No-Limit Hold'em World Championship. Largely as a result of these two championships, he was the 2012 WSOP Player of the Year. He is an online shorthanded cash game poker professional.

The 2013 World Series of Poker was the 44th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Paradise, Nevada between May 29-July 15, 2013. There was 62 bracelet events, culminating in the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event beginning on July 6. The November Nine concept returned for a sixth year, with the Main Event finalists returning on November 4.

George Danzer German poker player

George Danzer is an entrepreneur and former German professional poker player, based in Salzburg, Austria who is a four-time World Series of Poker bracelets winner, winning the inaugural $10,000 Seven Card Razz Championship and then the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud High-Low Championship at the 2014 World Series of Poker. He won his third bracelet winning the $5,000 Mixed Event 8-Game event at the 2014 World Series of Poker Asia Pacific. His total live tournament winnings exceed $1.9 million

The 2015 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) was held from October 8-24 at the Spielbank Casino in Berlin, Germany. There were 10 bracelet events, including a €550 Oktoberfest No Limit Hold'em event and a €550 Pot Limit Omaha event, the lowest buy-in for an Omaha tournament in WSOP history. The series of events culminated in the €10,450 Main Event beginning on October 18, and the €25,600 High Roller event on October 21. This was the first WSOP Europe since 2013, and the first held in Germany.
