The 2024 Conference USA football season will be the 29th season of college football play for Conference USA. The season is scheduled to begin on August 31, 2024, and conclude with the Conference Championship Game on December 6, 2024. [1] The conference will consist of 10 members and will be part of the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season.

Previous season

During the 2023 season, the Liberty Flames posted the best record in the regular season. Liberty and New Mexico State advanced to the championship game, where Liberty won by a score of 49–35. Liberty advanced to their first New Year's Six bowl game, being invited to play in the Fiesta Bowl, where they lost to Oregon by a score of 6–45.

Conference realignment

For the 2024 season, Kennesaw State joins Conference USA, moving up from NCAA Division I FCS to Division I FBS. [2] Due to NCAA rules regarding transitioning from FCS to FBS, the school will be ineligible for post-season play for the 2024 season.

The conference is set to expand further in 2025, with Delaware confirming that they will join the conference for the 2025–26 season. [3]

The season began on September 1 with Charlotte facing Louisville. This season was the second season for the C-USA under realignment that took place in 2014, which added the 14th member Charlotte from the Atlantic 10 Conference. The C-USA is a "Group of Five" conference under the College Football Playoff format along with the American Athletic Conference, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, and the Sun Belt Conference.

The 2017 Kansas State Wildcats football team represented Kansas State University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Wildcats played their home games at the Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas, and competed in the Big 12 Conference. They were led by 26th-year head coach Bill Snyder. The 2023 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team represented Middle Tennessee State University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Blue Raiders played their home games at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and competed as members of Conference USA. They were led by eighteenth-year head coach Rick Stockstill.

The 2023 Conference USA football season was the 28th season of college football play for Conference USA (CUSA). The season began on August 26, 2023 and ended with the Conference Championship Game on December 2, 2023. The conference consisted of nine members and was part of the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season.

The 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season will be the 155th season of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The regular season will begin on August 24 and will end on December 14. The postseason will begin on December 20, and, aside from any all-star games that are scheduled, end on January 20, 2025, with the College Football Playoff National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This will be the first season of the new College Football Playoff (CFP) system, with the bracket being expanded to 12 teams.

The 2024 North Alabama Lions football team will represent North Alabama University in the United Athletic Conference (UAC) during the 2024 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Lions will be led by second-year head coach Brent Dearmon. The team will play its home games at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence, Alabama.

The 2024 UTEP Miners football team will represent the University of Texas at El Paso in the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Miners will play their home games at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, and compete as members of Conference USA. They will be led by first-year head coach Scotty Walden.
