The AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship (Campeonato Mundial Mini AAA in Spanish) is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha Libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The championship is exclusively competed for in the Mini-Estrellas , or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism like North American Midget wrestling, it can also be very short wrestlers who works in the Mini division. [2] The Championship was created in 2008 after Mascarita Sagrada left AAA, taking the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship with him, leaving AAA without a title for their Mini-Estrellas division. Being a professional wrestling championship it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match.

History

The AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship was created in 2008 as the focal point of AAA's Mini-Estrellas division. The first champion was Mini Charly Manson who won a Mini-Estrella Championship tournament when he defeated Mini Abismo Negro and Octagoncito in the finals of the tournament that took place at the 2008 Verano de Escándalo show on September 14, 2008. Mini Charly Manson did not defend the title for over a year, mainly due to suffering two separate injuries that put him on the disabled list for most of the year. [3]

The inaugural champion was Mini Charly Manson, who defeated Mini Abismo Negro and Octagoncito at Verano de Escándalo on September 14, 2008 in Zapopan, Jalisco. The longest reigning champion was Dinastia, who held the title for 1,558 days from February 18, 2013 to May 26, 2017. The youngest champion was Mini Charly Manson, who won at the age of 21 years and 67 days. The shortest reigning champion was Mini Abismo Negro who held the title for 177 days from December 11, 2009 to June 6, 2010. The oldest champion is Mini Psicosis who won at the age of 44 years and 334 days. The current champion is Dinastía, who is in his second reign. He defeated Mini Psycho Clown for the championship on March 17, 2019 in Mexico City, Mexico. [1]

Title tournament

The tournament to crown the first ever AAA World Mini-Estrellas champion ran from July 20, 2008 until September 14, 2008 with the finals at the 2008 Verano de Escándalo event. The tournament featured 12 wrestlers who wrestled in regular singles matches until the final which was a three-way match. The first two matches took place on July 20, 2009 and saw Mascarita Sagrada defeat Mini Histeria and Mini Abismo Negro defeat La Parkita to qualify for the semi-final. [4] The tournament continued on July 25, 2008 where Octagoncito defeated Mini Chessman and Atomic Boy defeated Mascarita de la Muerte. [4] On July 31, 2008 Mini Charly Manson defeated Jerrito Estrada in the opening round and on August 8, 2008 Mini Kenzo Suzuki defeated Mascarita Divina to be the last wrestler to qualify for the semi-finals. [4] Octagoncito was the first to qualify for the finals as he defeated Mini Kenzo Suzuki on August 15, 2009. [4] Mini Charly Manson defeated Mascarita Sagrada on August 17, 2008 to become the second to qualify for the final. [4] Mini Abismo Negro was the last to qualify, defeating Atomic Boy on August 31, 2009. [4] The final match saw Mini Charly Manson outlast Octagoncito and Mini Abismo Negro to become the first AAA World Mini-Estrellas Champion. [5]

Andrés Alejandro Palomeque González was a Mexican luchador. He is best known for appearing under the stage name Abismo Negro, which is Spanish for "Black Abyss", in the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion. During AAA's short partnership with the World Wrestling Federation, he participated in the 1997 Royal Rumble and wrestled on Raw is War and WWF Shotgun Saturday Night, often teaming with Pierroth Jr. He is a former AAA Mega Champion as well as a former three time Campeón de Campeones, the predecessor to the AAA world championship.

The CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha libre wrestling-based promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The championship is exclusively competed for in the Mini-Estrellas, or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism, as in North American Midget wrestling; it can also be short wrestlers who work in the Mini-Estrellas division. The championship was created in 1992 and is the oldest active Mini-Estrella title in Mexico; both the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship and the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) World Mini-Estrella Championship were introduced after CMLL created their Mini-Estrella championship. Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship Professional wrestling championship

The Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship, also referred to as the Mexican National Minis Championship, is an inactive professional wrestling championship sanctioned by Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F.. While the commission sanctioned the title, it did not promote the events at which the championship was defended. Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promoted the events and had the everyday control of the championship. The championship was exclusively for wrestlers in the Mini-Estrellas, or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism, as in North American Midget wrestling; wrestlers who do not have dwarfism but are very short also work in the Mini-Estrellas division. As it was a professional wrestling championship, it was not won legitimately; it was instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. All title matches took place under two out of three falls rules.

The 2007 Antonio Peña Memorial Show was the first show to honor the deceased Antonio Peña, owner and creator of the Mexican Lucha Libre, or professional wrestling, company Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The show was held approximately one year after Peña died of a heart attack. The main focus of the show was the first ever Copa Antonio Peña which was won by Charly Manson as he survived a 12-man gauntlet match eliminating Alan Stone, Konnan and Scott Hall to win the Copa. Also on the show was a Domo De La Muerte cage match that saw Chessman come out as the loser in the match and thus had to have his hair shaved off. The undercard featured four additional matches. The show also saw the surprise return of Nicho El Millonario and Electroshock and the surprise appearance of Scott Hall. The event has since been retrospectively renamed Héroes Inmortales I.

<i>Guerra de Titanes</i> (2009) 2009 Lucha Libre AAA World Wide event

Guerra de Titanes (2009) was the thirteenth annual Guerra de Titanes professional wrestling show promoted by AAA since 1997. The show took place on December 11, 2009 in the Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas Convention center, a site that AAA has used for many of their major shows. Guerra de Titanes is AAA's "End of year" show and the fifth of their "big shows" they hold every year. The Main Event saw Dr. Wagner Jr. defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Mesias in a Domo De La Muerte cage match. The show also featured two AAA championship matches as Nicho el Millonario and Joe Líder defended the AAA World Tag Team Championship and Mini Charly Manson defended the AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship. Furthermore a "Mask vs. Hair", Lucha de Apuesta match between Faby Apache and Sexy Star took place as well. Finally the show featured a Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match and a four on four "AAA vs. La Legion Extranjera elimination match where the winner would receive a title match for the AAA Mega Championship as AAA's 2010 Rey de Reyes show.

Mascarita Dorada Mexican professional wrestler

Mascarita Dorada, is the ring name of a Mexican Luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, who works in the Mini-Estrella division, comparable to midget wrestling. He is also known for his tenure with WWE under the ring name El Torito.

Humberto Sánchez Medorio is a Mexican luchadorEnmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Pequeño Black Warrior, or Pequeño Warrior. Sánchez works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), in their Mini-Estrella division as a smaller version of wrestler Black Warrior. Sánchez previously worked for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) as Mini Psicosis, a smaller version of the wrestler Psicosis. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Sánchez has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, which is what separates the Mexican Mini-Estrella from traditional Midget wrestling as practiced in the United States and other places.

Mini Charly Manson Mexican professional wrestler

Arturo Santos Hernández is a Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler and bodybuilder, best known by his ring name Mini Charly Manson. For years he worked in the Mini-Estrella division for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), and was the first holder of the AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship. After leaving AAA, he uses the ring name Tiago, in competition on the independent circuit against regular sized competitors. He is not to be confused Charly Manson Jr. who sometimes works under the name Mini Charly Manson.

Los Vipers is a professional wrestling group, called a stable, which has existed in various incarnations in the Mexican wrestling promotions Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) since 1997. The group has consistently been presented as a Rudo stable. The group was founded by Cibernético and has featured a large number of wrestlers over the years. Currently the group is formed by seven members which consist of six male wrestlers and for the first time in the groups history a female wrestler and is known as Los Vipers. Over the years the group has also been known as Los Vipers Extreme, Los Vipers Primera Clase and Vipers Revolucion.

Rolando Fuentes Romero is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado better known under the ring name Mini Histeria. Fuentes works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in their Mini-Estrellas division. Fuentes is the son of Luchador Rocco Marvin and the brother of Ricky Marvin. He previously worked as Rocky Marvin. winning the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship under that name. As Mini Histeria he is part of Los Mini Vipers along with Mini Abismo Negro and Mini Psicosis. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Fuentes has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, including Rolando Fuentes.

Enrique Del Rio is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler who has worked for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) Mini-Estrella division since AAA was founded in 1992. Del Rio currently works under the ring name Mini Psicosis, a smaller version of Psicosis II, and is a former AAA World Mini-Estrella Champion. Until 2008 he worked as Jerrito Estrada, a smaller version of the wrestler Jerry Estrada. As Estrada Del Rio has held the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship once, being the shortest reigning champion in the title's history. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, including Enrique Del Rio.

Mascarita Divina is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. Divina works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide in their Mini-Estrella division. Mascarita Divina's name is Spanish for "Little Divine Mask", taken after the name of the regular sized Máscara Divina who he's a mascota version off. Mascarita Divina's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division. Octagoncito is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler who works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) Mini-Estrella division. He is the second wrestler to work under the ring name Octagoncito, being given the name after the original Octagoncito left AAA, although he still wrestles under the name on the independent circuit. Octagoncito's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that he has dwarfism, as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division.

Mascarita Sagrada is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler who works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) Mini-Estrella division. He is the third wrestler to work under the ring name "Mascarita Sagrada" for AAA, having used the name since 2007. Mascarita Sagrada's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, although at 1.19 m in this case it is clear that the wrestler under the mask is a dwarf. His name and outfit is patterned after popular luchador Mascara Sagrada and the name "Mascarita Sagrada" is Spanish for "Little Sacred Mask").

Flavia Antonia Moreno León is a Mexican Luchadora, or female professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Cynthia Moreno She is working for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Moreno is a part of an extended wrestling family that includes her father Alfonso Moreno, her brother who wrestles as El Oriental and her sisters, Esther, Alda, and Rossy Moreno. She is a former two-time holder of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with her brother El Oriental.

La Parkita is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado who works in the Mini-Estrella division for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). He is the third wrestler to compete as La Parkita and is at times denoted as "La Parkita III" or "La Parkita (AAA)". <i>Mini-Estrella</i> Professional wrestling genre

The term Mini-Estrella is used in lucha libre to describe a division of short professional wrestlers or luchadors, some of whom have dwarfism. The Mexican Mini-Estrellas is comparable to Midget wrestling practiced around the world, but with the notable exception that some of the Mini-Estrellas do not have dwarfism but are simply short. Some Mini-Estrellas have later on moved on to work as regular sized competitors. The Mini-Estrellas have been featured in several promotions outside Mexico, most notably World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Pentagón is a lucha libre, or professional wrestling, persona also referred to as a gimmick that has been portrayed by a number of different people over the years. The gimmick was created as an Evil twin of professional wrestler Octagón and is always a rudo, or heel character The gimmick was created by AAA owner Antonio Peña in 1995, giving AAA the rights to the name "Pentagón", which meant that when wrestlers who played Pentagón left AAA they had to modify the name such as "Pentagón Black". There have been at least three distinctive versions of Pentagón
