Afolabi Fasogbon (born 24 August 2004) is an English rugby union player who plays as a prop forward. He plays for the England U20 team, and in 2023 signed for Gloucester Rugby from London Irish.

Early life

Fasogbon attended Bishop Wand School in Sunbury-on-Thames. Despite not playing rugby union until he was at under-14 level, he joined the London Irish Academy at 15 years-old, having previously represented Saracens Amateur RFC. [2] [3]

Career

London Irish

Fasogbon signed on as a professional with London Irish ahead of the 2022-23 season. [4] He made his debut for London Irish against Harlequins RFC in the Premiership Rugby Cup, in September 2022. [5]

Esher (loan)

He also played for Esher RFC in National League 1 on loan. On his first XV debut he scored a try against Cinderford R.F.C., at Moseley Road in October 2022. [6]

Gloucester

In June 2023 he was announced as joining Gloucester Rugby. [7]

International career

Fasogbon earned his first England U-18 cap against Italy under-18s in August 2021. [8]

He scored his first England U-20 try against Italy in a 35-25 victory on 10 February 2023 in the 2023 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. [9] He featured for England u20s at the 2023 World Rugby U20 Championship in the summer of 2023. [10]
