    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Dodoma</span> Capital of Tanzania

    Dodoma, officially Dodoma City, is the capital of Tanzania and the administrative capital of both Dodoma Municipal Council and the entire Dodoma Region, with a population of 765,179. In 1974, the Tanzanian government announced that Tanzania's federal capital would be moved from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma for social and economic reasons and to centralise the capital within the country. It became the official capital in 1996.

    Dodoma Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the city of Dodoma. Dodoma is located in central Tanzania, bordered by Singida region to the west, Manyara region to the north, Iringa region to the south, and Morogoro region to the east. Dodoma region hosts the nation's capital city, where the legislative assembly of Bunge is based. Dodoma region also hosts one of the largest universities in Tanzania: University of Dodoma. The region is the home of the Tanzanian wine industry, which is the second largest wine industry on the continent after South Africa. According to the 2022 national census, the region had a population of 3,085,625; in the 2012 national census, the population was 2,083,588.

    Kisarawe District Council is one of eight administrative districts of Pwani Region in Tanzania. The District covers an area of 5,031 km2 (1,942 sq mi). It is bordered to the east by Dar es Salaam Region's Ilala and Ubungo Municipal Councils. The Kibaha District and Kibaha Town Council border the district to the north, and the Mkuranga District and Kibiti District border it to the south-east. By the Rufiji District to the south, and the Morogoro District of the Morogoro Region to the west. The district is comparable in size to the land area of Trinidad and Tobago. The town of Kisarawe serves as its administrative capital. According to the 2022 Tanzania National Census, the population of the District was 159,226.

    Hawa Abdulrahman Ghasia is a Tanzanian politician belonging to the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party and a three-term Member of Parliament for Mtwara Rural constituency since 2005. She is the former Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office for Regional Administration and Local Government.

    The Chama Cha Mapinduzi is the dominant ruling party in Tanzania and the second longest-ruling party in Africa, only after the True Whig Party of Liberia. It was formed in 1977, following the merger of the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) and the Afro-Shirazi Party (ASP), which were the sole operating parties in mainland Tanzania and the semi-autonomous islands of Zanzibar, respectively.

    Anne Kilango Malecela is a Tanzanian politician belonging to the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. She was Member of Parliament for Same East constituency between 2005 and 2015, Deputy Education Minister, and Regional Commissioner for Shinyanga Region for one month in 2016.

    Pindi Hazara Chana is a Tanzanian CCM politician and a special seat Member of Parliament since 2010. In January 2022 she began her cabinet career as the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office. Following a mini cabinet re-shuffle on 31st March 2022 Chana assumed the Ministry of Natural Resources & Tourism office. She exchanged positions with Mohamed Mchengerwa following another cabinet reshuffle as the new Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports in February 2023.

    Ridhiwani Jakaya Kikwete is a Tanzanian lawyer and CCM politician. He is currently a Deputy Minister of State Office of the President Public Service Management and Good Governance in Tanzania. Member of Parliament for Chalinze Constituency (CCM).

    The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) presidential primaries, 2015 took place in July 2015 to determine CCM's nominee for the Presidency of Tanzania for the 2015 election. The Chama Cha Mapinduzi is the country's dominant ruling party, and the longest reigning ruling party in Africa.

    Jokate Mwegelo is a Tanzanian politician and Secretary General of the Chama cha Mapinduzi’s Youth Wing (UVCCM).Before being appointed, she was an entrepreneur and a media personality. In July 2018, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli appointed Hon. Jokate Mwegelo as the new District Commissioner for Kisarawe district in Pwani region. She was then appointed as the District Commissioner for Temeke District in Dar es Salaam Region in July 2021. Hon. Jokate Mwegelo was appointed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as the District Commissioner for Korogwe District in Tanga Region in January, 2023 . She is a member of Chama Cha Mapinduzi, previously served as Secretary in charge of Public Relations and Mobilization UVCCM - youth wing of Chama Cha Mapinduzi.

    Angeline Mabula is a Tanzanian politician belonging to the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. She was the Minister of lands and human settlement development until September 2023. She is a Member of Parliament for Ilemela.

    Anthony Peter Mavunde is a Tanzanian politician who has been a member of the ruling party CCM since 2006. He is the current Minister of Minerals and a Member of Parliament.


    Stella Ikupa Alex, is a Tanzanian accountant and politician, who is a member of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. She is the current Deputy Minister in the office of the Prime Minister of Tanzania, responsible for the disabled. She also serves as a Member of Parliament, having been appointed to a special seat in 2015.

    Rosemary Nyerere was a Tanzanian politician and academic. She was a daughter of the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, the founder and first president of the United Republic of Tanzania.

    Kitila Alexander Kanyama Mkumbo is a Tanzanian politician and an academic professor.

    Ruth Hiyob Mollel is a former senior civil servant from Tanzania, who became a politician with the Chadema party after her retirement, and was a member of the National Assembly of Tanzania between 2015 and 2020.
