The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a consortium of 61 research universities in 19 economies of the Pacific Rim. Formed in 1997, [1] APRU fosters collaboration between member universities, researchers, and policymakers contributing to economic, scientific and cultural advancement in the Pacific Rim. Its headquarters, the APRU International University Centre, is located at the Cyberport in Hong Kong.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is made up of 13 members, each of whom are chancellors, vice-chancellors or presidents of APRU universities, or staff from the APRU International Secretariat: [3]

International Secretariat

Headed by the Secretary General, the APRU International Secretariat coordinates the agenda and programs of APRU. The Secretariat also plays an instrumental role in driving APRU's communications and global outreach. The Secretariat is currently based in Hong Kong and located at the Cyberport.

Queen's College is the first public secondary school founded in Hong Kong by the British colonial government. It was initially named The Government Central School in 1862 and later renamed Victoria College in 1890, and finally obtained the present name of Queen's College in 1894. St. Paul's Co-educational College, is an Anglican secondary school located at 33 MacDonnell Road, Mid-Levels, Hong Kong. Founded in 1915, it was a girls-only college until after World War II. The college offers the HKDSE and IBDP curricula in parallel. It is the first Round Square school in greater China. Since 2001, it has been under the Direct Subsidy Scheme. It has an affiliated primary school, making it a school of the "through-train" system.

Sir Noel Plunkett Power, was a senior judge in Hong Kong and Brunei Darussalam. He had been a barrister-at-law in his home-country Australia when he joined the judiciary of Hong Kong in 1965 as a magistrate in the Lands Tribunal. Since then, he had been successively promoted as President of the Lands Tribunal, a puisne judge of the Supreme Court and Vice-President of the Court of Appeal. In 1996, he became acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court when Sir Ti-liang Yang resigned and contested for the first ever election of the Chief Executive. After the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong from Britain to People's Republic of China in 1997, he was appointed Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court. He retired from the High Court in 1999 but remained as a non-permanent judge of the Court of Final Appeal.

The Hong Kong University Students' Union was a students' union founded in 1912 and registered under the Societies Ordinance in Hong Kong.
