The Bicentenary Celebration match was a 50-over exhibition cricket match played on 5 July 2014 at Lord's Cricket Ground, London, to mark the 200th anniversary of the ground, which was first used in 1814 and is considered the "home of cricket". [1] [2] The match was contested by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), for whom Lord's is their home ground, and a Rest of the World team. [3] The MCC team won the match by seven wickets, with Aaron Finch being named man of the match for his score of 181*. [4] [5]
A previous 200th anniversary celebration match took place at Lord's in 1987, also between MCC and the Rest of the World, on the occasion of the bicentenary of Marylebone Cricket Club. [6]

Rest of the World captain Shane Warne won the toss and elected to bat. Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag gave the ROW a quick start. The MCC's Pakistani bowler Umar Gul suffered a recurrence of a right knee injury, which meant he only bowled two overs before leaving the field. Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal was introduced during the power play and he struck immediately, removing Gilchrist, Kevin Pietersen, Tamim Iqbal and Shahid Afridi. However, this was then followed by a century stand between Yuvraj Singh and Paul Collingwood. Singh eventually scored a century as his late assault took the total to 293. Warne suffered a broken hand from the bowling of Brett Lee. [7] Warne was replaced in the field by South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock. [8] The MCC started well with both Sachin Tendulkar and Aaron Finch batting positively. Sri Lankan bowler Muttiah Muralitharan removed Tendulkar before Collingwood was able to dismiss Brian Lara and Rahul Dravid off consecutive deliveries. Finch along with Shivnarine Chanderpaul then took MCC home with Finch scoring 181 not out.

During commentary, former England cricketer Andrew Strauss described Kevin Pietersen as "a cunt" in what he believed to be an off-air conversation. While the comment did not go out on Sky Sports, it was broadcast to overseas viewers. [9] [10] Strauss later said "I apologise unreservedly, particularly to Kevin Pietersen. I am mortified and profusely sorry." [11]
Brian Charles Lara, is a Trinidadian former international cricketer, widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He topped the Test batting rankings on several occasions and holds several cricketing records, including the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket, with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994, which is the only quintuple-hundred in first-class cricket history. As captain, Lara led the West Indies team to win the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, the first time the team won any major ICC trophy since winning the 1979 Cricket World Cup.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, is an Indian former international cricketer who captained the Indian national team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is the all-time highest run-scorer in both ODI and Test cricket with more than 18,000 runs and 15,000 runs, respectively. He also holds the record for receiving the most man-of-the-match awards in international cricket. Tendulkar was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha by nomination from 2012 to 2018.

Kevin Peter Pietersen is an English cricket commentator, conservationist, and former England international captain. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional off spin bowler who played in all three formats for England between 2005 and 2014, which included a brief tenure as captain. He won the Player of the Series award for his heroics in 2010 ICC World Twenty20 and for helping the England Cricket Team win their maiden ICC trophy.

The 2006–07 cricket series between Australia and England for The Ashes was played in Australia from 23 November 2006 to 5 January 2007. Australia won the series and regained the Ashes that had been lost to England in the 2005 series. The five Tests of the series were played at Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. In winning, Australia completed a 5–0 "whitewash", the first time this had happened in an Ashes series since 1920–21. The India national cricket team toured England from 19 July to 8 September 2007. The tour included 3 Tests and 7 ODIs. During the Test series, the Pataudi Trophy, a prize commissioned by the MCC to commemorate the 118th anniversary of India's Test debut, was competed for. This was designed and created by Jocelyn Burton, Holborn, London.
The Indian national cricket team toured Australia in the 1991–92 season, just before the 1992 Cricket World Cup. The team was led by Mohammed Azharuddin and played 5 Test matches. Australia won the Test series 4-0. The series is notable from an Indian point of view for Ravi Shastri's double hundred, Sachin Tendulkar's 114 on a bouncy pitch at Perth while the other Indian batsmen struggled, and Kapil Dev becoming the first Indian bowler to take 400 wickets in Tests. The series also saw the debut of Australia's leading Test wicket-taker, Shane Warne.
The Indian national cricket team toured Australia in the 1999–2000 season. They played 3 Test matches losing all the three of them. They played 8 One Day Internationals as part of the Carlton & United Series against Pakistan and Australia.
Shane Keith Warne was an Australian international cricketer whose career ran from 1992 to 2007. Warne played as a right-arm leg spin bowler and a right-handed batsman for Victoria, Hampshire and Australia. Considered to be one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the sport, he made 145 Test appearances, taking 708 wickets, and set the record for the most wickets taken by any bowler in Test cricket, a record he held until 2007. Warne was a member of the Australian team that won the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
Play in Group B of the 2011 Cricket World Cup took place from 19 February to 20 March 2011. The group consisted of hosts India and Bangladesh, along with England, Ireland, Netherlands, West Indies and South Africa. The top four teams advanced to the quarter-finals.

The tour consisted of one Twenty20 International (T20I), five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and four Test matches, as well as a number of matches against English county sides. The opening Test at Lord's was the 2,000th Test. England's victory in the Third Test put them number one in the world rankings.
The Lord's Pavilion is a cricket pavilion at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, England. Designed by Thomas Verity and built in 1889–1890, the pavilion has achieved Grade II* listed heritage designation. Like the rest of Lord's, the pavilion is owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) but is also used by Middlesex County Cricket Club and the England national cricket team.
The Lord's honours boards are boards in the Pavilion at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, which commemorate cricket players who have scored a century, taken 5 wickets in a single innings, or taken 10 wickets in a match in either a Test match or limited-overs international match at Lord's. The boards initially only included achievements in Tests, but in 2019, recognition was added for ODIs, meaning that performances by female cricketers were recorded for the first time.
The West Indies cricket team toured India, playing two Test matches and a three-match One Day International series against the Indian national team from 31 October to 27 November 2013. The series, not initially in the ICC Future Tours Programme, was hastily arranged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the postponement of India's scheduled tour to South Africa to December, with that series itself reduced to 2 Tests and 3 ODIs due to a spat between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa.
The Australian cricket team toured India from February to April 1998 for a three Test series and an ODI tri-series featuring Australia, India and Zimbabwe.
Cricket All-Stars was an exhibition Twenty20 cricket series took place in the United States in 2015. The series features two lineups of renowned retired cricket players from around the world, led by cricket icons – Sachin Tendulkar of India and Shane Warne of Australia.
The Big Appeal (Cricket's Day of Giving) was a set of three cricketing events on 8 and 9 February 2020 aimed at raising relief for those affected by the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season. The three events included the ‘Bushfire Cricket Bash’, the Commonwealth Bank Women's Tri-Series T20I match between India and Australia and the final of the Big Bash League (BBL). All profits and funds went to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. The Bushfire Cricket Bash raised $7.7 million.
The MCC Bicentenary match was a five-day first-class cricket exhibition match held at Lord's Cricket Ground from 20 to 25 August 1987. The match was in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which had been founded in 1787, and was contested between an MCC team captained by Mike Gatting, and a "Rest of the World" team captained by Allan Border. It featured many notable international players: with the exception of Clive Rice of South Africa, 21 of the 22 players had played Test cricket prior to the match.
