Bunomys is a genus of rodent from Sulawesi and Buton Island. [1]
Currently, eight species are recognised in two species-groups. [2]

The Old World rats and mice, part of the subfamily Murinae in the family Muridae, comprise at least 519 species. Members of this subfamily are called murines. In terms of species richness, this subfamily is larger than all mammal families except the Cricetidae and Muridae, and is larger than all mammal orders except the bats and the remainder of the rodents.
Maxomys is a genus of rodents, widespread in Southeast Asia. They are mid-sized rodents, similar to rats, that live on the ground of tropical rainforests. There they build nests, padded with fallen leaves from trees. They feed on roots, fallen fruit, and other plants, as well as insects. All species are shy and avoid food from humans.
The Luzon montane forest mouse is a species of rodent in the family Muridae, from the genus Apomys. It occurs only in the Philippines, where it has been found on the large northern island Luzon. It is most closely related to the large Mindoro forest mouse, which occurs on Mindoro. There may be another related species in the Sierra Madre, but this species is yet undescribed. The Luzon montane forest mouse is a relatively large, ground-dwelling rat with a tail that is quite short for its genus.
Andrew's hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Sulawesi and Buton Island, Indonesia.
The yellow-haired hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Sulawesi, Indonesia, including Lore Lindu National Park.
The heavenly hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in southwestern Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it has only been found on Mount Lompobatang. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The fraternal hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in northeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Its natural habitat is tropical dry forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The inland hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in central and southern Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The long-headed hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it is only known from Mount Tambusisi. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Margaretamys is a genus of rodent in the family Muridae endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Up until 1973, it was known from only few examples of one species. Then Guy G. Musser collected more examples of this species during his stay in Sulawesi, as well as collecting two new species. And in 1981, as part of his huge project of sorting through the then very large genus Rattus, described these as members of the new genus, Margaretamys.
The Sulawesi giant rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is monotypic in the genus Paruromys. The species is endemic to Sulawesi in Indonesia, where it inhabits forests at elevations from sea level to the tree line. It is frugivorous and semiarboreal. While not currently listed as threatened, it is impacted by both habitat destruction and subsistence hunting.
Taeromys is a genus of rodent in the family Muridae found exclusively in Sulawesi, Indonesia. It contains the following species:
Sarcocystis is a genus of parasitic Apicomplexan alveolates. Species in this genus infect reptiles, birds and mammals. The name is derived from Greek: sarkos = flesh and kystis = bladder.
Guy Graham Musser was an American zoologist. His main research was in the field of the rodent subfamily Murinae, in which he has described many new species.
Halmaheramys bokimekot, or the spiny Boki Mekot rat, is a rodent found on the island of Halmahera in the Molucca archipelago, whose discovery was announced in 2013. This is the only locality where this particular species has been found. H. bokimekot was confirmed as a new species through probabilistic methodologies applied to morphological and molecular data.
The Sulawesi montane rain forests is a tropical moist forest ecoregion in Indonesia. It includes the highlands of Sulawesi.
Rattini is a very large, diverse tribe of muroid rodents in the subfamily Murinae. They are found throughout Asia and Australasia, with a few species ranging into Europe and northern Africa. The most well-known members of this group are the true rats, several species of which have been introduced worldwide.
The Karoko hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The Tana Toraja hill rat is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
