Business Recorder is an English-language financial daily newspaper in Pakistan, [2] founded by Muhammad Ahmed Zuberi in 1965. [3] The publication is owned by the Business Recorder Group. [4] [1]

Historical background

Business Recorder was launched on 27 April 1965 by veteran journalist M.A. Zuberi (1920 12 December 2010), the newspaper's founder. He was first appointed as an apprentice reporter by Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1945 at Dawn in Delhi. Before the creation of Pakistan in 1947, he had been promoted to the post of Senior Assistant Editor at Dawn. He continued to work in that position even in Pakistan until 1964. Then he founded the Business Recorder in 1965 and thus became one of the pioneers of financial journalism in Pakistan. [1] [4]

Nawaiwaqt is an Urdu daily newspaper in Pakistan which is currently owned by Majid Nizami Trust. It was launched on March 23, 1940, under the leadership of Hameed Nizami. Hameed Nizami was the founder of this newspaper. His younger brother Majid Nizami was the chief editor and publisher of Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Publications until he died in 2014 and then this group became the property of Majid Nizami Trust created by Majid Nizami himself in his lifetime. In 2016, Rameeza and the biological daughter of Mian Arif and Ghazala Arif were elected as the Managing Director of Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Publications by the Trustees of Majid Nizami Trust and she was also elected as the Senior Vice President of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS).

The 12 May Karachi riots, also known as Black Saturday riots, were a series of violent clashes between rival political activists in Karachi. The violence resulted in 58 killings of ethnic Pashtuns. The unrest began as the recently suspended chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry arrived at the Jinnah International Airport on 12 May 2007. Gunfights and clashes erupted across the provincial capital as Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP), and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) activists, who supported the judge, and the pro-government Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists took to the streets against each other.PMLN and MQM party workers were accused of launching highly coordinated attacks against both ANP and PPP supporters. Government machinery was used to block all major roads. Police was accomplice and a silent spectator to the violence. News media was attacked at Guru Mandir when MQM activists began firing at AAJ TV headquarters which was shown on live television.

Suno Chanda is a 2018 Pakistani Ramadan romantic comedy series developed by Shahzad Javed, directed by Ahson Talish and written by Saima Akram Chaudhry.
