The Central Wheatbelt Football League is an Australian rules football competition in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

History

The Central Wheatbelt Football League (CWFL) was formed at the end of the 1967 football season following a merger of the Dampier Football Association and the Koorda-Wyalkatchem Football Association. [1] The Dampier Football Association (1913–1967) had clubs that included Bencubbin, Kununoppin, Mukinbudin. Nungarin, Trayning, & Yelbeni.

The Koorda-Wyalkatchem Football Association (1958-1967) was an amalgamation of the Koorda Football Association (1929-1957) which had clubs included Gabbin, Cadoux, Booralaming and the Wyalkatchem Football Association (1923-1957) with clubs included Benjabbering, Korrelocking, Wyalkatchem and Yorkrakine

Bencubbin is a town in Western Australia in the north eastern Wheatbelt, 275 km north-east of Perth. The town lies within the Shire of Mount Marshall and is home to approximately 294 people as of 2011. Surveyor General John Septimus Roe first surveyed the region in 1836 and he was followed by sandalwood cutters and stockmen, but it was not until 1908 that the first permanent settlers arrived.

Wyalkatchem played until the end of 2010.

The North Eastern Football League is an Australian rules football competition based in the Mid North region of South Australia, Australia. It is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League. 8 teams are in the league. The most recent team to join the comp is the Southern Saints (Eudunda/Robertstown) who joined in 2010. Except the Eudunda Rosters were an original team in the NEFL. Only in 2010 Robertstown "Roos" joined in with the NEFL.

Koorda is a town in the north eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 236 kilometres (147 mi) east of Perth and 43 kilometres (27 mi) north of Wyalkatchem at the northeastern end of the Cowcowing Lakes. It is the main town in the Shire of Koorda. At the 2016 census Koorda had a population of 414. The surrounding areas produce wheat and other cereal crops. The town is a receival site for Cooperative Bulk Handling.
