Dana Marie is a Christian recording artist from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Marie released her first album in 2010.

Early life

Dana Marie was involved in various choirs, solos, and school musicals throughout high school. After graduating from Woodland Christian High School, [1] she moved to Sydney, Australia where she attended the Hillsong International Leadership College. She moved back to Canada after receiving her Diploma of Ministry from Hillsong.

Career

After releasing her first self-titled, full-length album in December 2010, Marie has performed and led worship at events such as the 100 Huntley Street, [2] [3] [4] Kingdom Bound, [5] and the Grand Valley Institution for Women. [6]

Marie has two singles dedicated to Compassion Canada, [7] "More Loved" and "One Act", and is currently working with Compassion Canada on her second album. [8] She has also recorded Girl Power to Cure for Rett syndrome. [9]

Other musicians performing with Marie include her brother Fraiser Hoekstra (drummer), and Nick Bronsema (acoustic guitarist) who both joined her in 2010. Kenny Butcher (bassist) and David Faris (electric guitarist) joined the band in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Awards

Marie won the 2010 Shining Star vocal competition for Christian radio station 94.3 Faith FM, judged in part by Jaci Velasquez. In 2011, Marie was nominated for "Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year" at the Gospel Music Association of Canada's Covenant Awards. In 2012, Marie won "Collaborative Song of the Year" for "Join Together" with Scott Towaij, Amy Savin, Ali Matthews, Sean Dayton, Chris Bray and Colin Bernard. [10]

Hillsong United is a worship collective that originated as a part of Hillsong Church. Formed in 1998 as part of Hillsong's youth ministry, the band consists of several rotating worship leaders from the church, including Joel Houston, Taya Smith-Gaukrodger, Matt Crocker, Jonathon Douglass, Brooke Fraser, Jad Gillies and Benjamin Hastings. Due to several songs written by the youth ministry, Hillsong Worship leader Darlene Zschech recommended that they record an album, which resulted in their debut extended play, One, which was released alongside the Hillsong Worship album Touching Heaven Changing Earth. Since then, the group has released fourteen live albums, as well as five studio albums. The band composes songs and performs in church services as well as concerts on worldwide tours.

The songwriters include Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding and Dylan Thomas, Darlene Zschech, Joel Houston, Harrison Wood, Jill McCloghry, Sam Knock, Joel Davies, Jason Ingram and Chris Tomlin. God Is Able debuted at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart. It was nominated at the 43rd GMA Dove Awards for Inspirational Album of the Year. The DVD was recognized at the 2012 ARIA No.1 Chart Awards for spending one week at number one on the Australian chart.

The City Harmonic was a Canadian Christian rock band based in Hamilton, Ontario. Elias Dummer, Eric Fusilier (bass), Aaron Powell (guitar), and Josh Vanderlaan (drums) collectively made up The City Harmonic. Their music has been described as "nostalgic Brit-pop meets campfire sing-along mix that features raucous gang vocals along with agile, soaring anthems crafted to include the listener". Zion is the third studio album by Australian contemporary worship music band Hillsong United. It was released on 22 February 2013 for Australia, and was released by 26 February 2013 internationally, under Hillsong Music and Sparrow Records. Hillsong Young & Free is an Australian contemporary worship music group from Sydney, Australia, where they started making Christian music in 2012 at Hillsong Church. They have released four live albums: We Are Young & Free (2013), Youth Revival (2016), III Live (2018), and All of My Best Friends (2020); they have also released four studio albums: Youth Revival Acoustic (2017), III (2018), III (2019), and III (Reimagined) (2019). Additionally, the group have released three EPs: This Is Living (2015), We Are Young & Free - EP (2015), and Out Here on a Friday Where It Began (2021).

Youth Revival is the second live album from Hillsong Young & Free. It was recorded live at Hillsong City Campus in Waterloo, Sydney on November 13, 2015. Sparrow Records alongside Hillsong Music Australia released the album on 26 February 2016. On 2 November 2016, along with their campaign "An Act of Real Love", the official music video of "Real Love" was released. It received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

<i>Wonder</i> (Hillsong United album) 2017 studio album by Hillsong United

Wonder is the fifth studio album from Australian contemporary worship music band Hillsong United, a worship band from Hillsong Church. The album was released on 9 June 2017, under Hillsong Music, Sparrow Records and Capitol Christian Music Group. "Wonder" was released as the lead single for the album in May 2017, while "So Will I " and "Not Today" were released in 2018.
