David Scott Mann is an American lawyer and politician. A member of the Democratic Party,he served as the United States representative for Ohio's 1st congressional district from 1993 to 1995. He also served as a member of the Cincinnati City Council from 2013 to 2022 and from 1974 to 1992,during which time he served as mayor of Cincinnati from 1980 to 1982 and again in 1991. Mann ran in the 2021 Cincinnati mayoral election,but lost to Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval.

The 2020 United States elections were held on Tuesday,November 3,2020. The Democratic Party's nominee,former vice president Joe Biden,defeated incumbent Republican president Donald Trump in the presidential election. Despite losing seats in the House of Representatives,Democrats retained control of the House and gained control of the Senate. As a result,the Democrats obtained a government trifecta,the first time since the elections in 2008 that the party gained unified control of Congress and the presidency. With Trump losing his bid for re-election,he became the first defeated incumbent president to have overseen his party lose the presidency and control of both the House and the Senate since Herbert Hoover in 1932. This was the first time since 1980 that either chamber of Congress flipped partisan control in a presidential year,and the first time Democrats did so since 1948.
The 2019 United States elections were held,in large part,on Tuesday,November 5,2019. This off-year election included gubernatorial elections in Kentucky,Louisiana,and Mississippi;regularly-scheduled state legislative elections in Louisiana,Mississippi,Virginia,and New Jersey;and special elections for seats in various state legislatures. Across the fifty states,approximately 65 percent of all upper house seats and 85 percent of all lower house seats were up for election. Mattie Parker is an American attorney,business owner and politician serving as the 45th Mayor of Fort Worth,Texas. She was elected in 2021 after serving as Chief of Staff for the Mayor and the Fort Worth City Council for five years. After coming in second place in the first round of voting in May,Parker faced off against Deborah Peoples,the Tarrant County Democratic Party chair,in the run-off election on June 5,2021. Parker received 53.5% of the vote in the nominally non-partisan election.
The 2022 United States state legislative elections were held on November 8,2022,for 88 state legislative chambers in 46 states. Across the fifty states,approximately 56 percent of all upper house seats and 92 percent of all lower house seats were up for election. Additionally,six territorial chambers were up in four territories and the District of Columbia. These midterm elections coincided with other state and local elections,including gubernatorial elections in multiple states.
The 2023 Houston mayoral election was held on November 7,2023,with a runoff on December 9 because no candidate won a majority of the vote in the first round. It was held to elect the mayor of Houston,Texas. Incumbent Democratic mayor Sylvester Turner was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term in office. Municipal elections in Texas are officially nonpartisan.
