Drew Westervelt (born April 25, 1985 in Bel Air, Maryland [1] ) is a former lacrosse player in the National Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse.

College career

Westervelt attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where, as a senior, he was the nation's fifth-leading scorer. [2]

Entrepreneurship

In April 2014, Westervelt launched a new company HEX Performance based in Baltimore, Maryland. The company produces "HEX" removes that sweaty smell leftover in performance synthetic fabrics. HEX is now being sold at Wegmans, Whole Foods Market, Harris Teeter, Shoprite, and Canadian Tire. [3]

Professional career

MLL

Westervelt was selected by the Denver Outlaws fourth overall in the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft. [2]

In 2011 he was traded to the Chesapeake Bayhawks, then in 2016 to the New York Lizards. [4]

NLL

He was acquired by the Philadelphia Wings in the third round (37th overall) in the 2007 National Lacrosse League entry draft. [5] During the 2009 NLL season, he was named to the All-Star Game as an injury replacement. [6]

On September 13, 2013, Westervelt was traded to the Colorado Mammoth for Ryan Hotaling and draft picks. [7] He was not included in the published final roster for Colorado, so his status with that team is not known. [8]

Law was drafted in the fourth round in both the NLL and the MLL. He was a reserve player in the 2007 All-star game. Law graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law on May 19, 2007. Joshua S. Sims is an American former professional lacrosse player. He played in Major League Lacrosse through 2013 and last played box lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League with the Philadelphia Wings in 2010. He starred as a member of the Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team from 1997 through 2000. He is a two-time NCAA champion, three-time MLL champion, and one-time NLL champion.

His son, Kevin Huntley, was also an All-American at Johns Hopkins. Huntley was also the first ever head coach for the Toronto Nationals. David Huntley died December 18, 2017, after suffering a heart attack while attending a box lacrosse game in Delray Beach, Florida.
