Evi Van Acker (born 23 September 1985) is a Belgian professional sailor. She has a Bachelor in Chemistry and is currently[ when? ] studying for a Master in bio-engineering.[ citation needed ]
Van Acker started sailing at age 7 in an Optimist dinghy and soon started on the youth program of the Royal Belgian Sailing Club. In 1998 she became European champion in the Optimist class. In 2000, she transferred to the Europe class and placed 17th in the 2003 World Championship. Having transferred to the Laser Radial, she became European champion in 2006, 2007 and 2011 and became second in the 2011 World Championship.
She went on to compete in the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition finishing 8th in the Women's Singlehanded Class the Laser Radial.
On 6 August 2012 she won the bronze medal in the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition in the Laser Radial class, behind Xu Lijia of China and Marit Bouwmeester of the Netherlands. [1]
She was shortlisted in 2007 by the International Sailing Federation for the ISAF World Sailor of the Year Awards.

Xu Lijia is a Chinese sailboat racer who won a bronze medal in women's Laser Radial class at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a gold medal in the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she was the flag bearer for China at the closing ceremony.
The Splash Dinghy is 3.5 m in length and all boats are identical, thus, as is typical in One-Design classes, the sailor's ability rather than equipment is emphasised fleet racing. This, combined with the low hull weight of 55 kg, allow the class to serve as a stepping stone between the Optimist Dinghy and boats such as the Laser Radial, suiting sailors in the age range from 13 to 21 years.

Krystal Weir is an Australian sailor. She finished tenth at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in sailing in the Women's Laser Radial class event, where she finished in twelfth.
Philipine van Aanholt is a female sailor from Curaçao, competing mainly in the Laser Radial class. She is a two-time Women World Champion in non-Olympic classes. In 2008 and 2009 she was chosen Curaçao's Youth Sports Women of the year. After the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands Antilles lost its recognition by the International Olympic Committee following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, van Aanholt was allowed to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics as an Independent Olympic Athlete. In 2016, she represented neighboring island Aruba at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She was Aruba's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Pan American Games.

Sigrid Rondelez is a Belgian windsurfer, who specialized in Mistral and Neil Pryde RS:X classes. She represented Belgium in three editions of the Olympic Games, and was a top eight finalist at the 2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Cadiz, Spain. Before her sporting career ended in 2012, Rondelez trained for Side Shore Surfers Club in De Panne under her head coach, former Dutch windsurfer, and 2008 Olympian Casper Bouman.
