The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic is an annual college lacrosse event played in Baltimore, Maryland early in the NCAA Division I season. From 2007 to 2009, the event consisted of a doubleheader; in 2010 it was expanded to include a third game. The event takes place in M&T Bank Stadium, the home field of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League, and it was first held 2007. [1] The event is hosted by the manufacturer Konica Minolta. The inaugural Face-Off Classic in 2007 set the attendance record for a regular season lacrosse-only event with 20,130 spectators. That was broken by the 2009 Big City Classic. [2] The event was not held in 2014.

College lacrosse is played by student-athletes at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. In both countries, men's field lacrosse and women's lacrosse are played at both the varsity and club levels. College lacrosse in Canada is sponsored by the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) and Maritime University Field Lacrosse League (MUFLL), while in the United States, varsity men's and women's lacrosse is governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and National Association of Intercolliegiate Athletics (NAIA). There are also university lacrosse programs in the United Kingdom sponsored by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and programs in Japan.

M&T Bank Stadium Home venue of the Baltimore Ravens

M&T Bank Stadium is a multi-purpose football stadium located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the home of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. The stadium is immediately adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles. Often referred to as "Ravens Stadium", M&T Bank Stadium officially opened in 1998, and is currently one of the most praised stadiums in the NFL for fan amenities, ease of access, concessions and other facilities.

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team plays its home games at M&T Bank Stadium and is headquartered in Owings Mills.

Big City Classic

The Inside LacrosseBig City Classic was an annual college lacrosse triple-header event played in East Rutherford, New Jersey from 2009 to 2013. It was held at first at Giants Stadium and then MetLife Stadium, the home fields of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets and is sponsored by the Baltimore-based magazine, Inside Lacrosse.

The 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament was held from May 9 through May 25, 2009. This was the 39th annual Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament. Loyola Greyhounds mens lacrosse

The Loyola Greyhounds men's lacrosse team represents Loyola University Maryland in NCAA Division I lacrosse. Its home matches are played at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Charley Toomey has served as its head coach since 2006. It became a member of the Patriot League along with the university's other intercollegiate athletic programs on July 1, 2013.

Will Dalton from Queenstown, Maryland is a professional lacrosse transition player for the San Jose Stealth of the National Lacrosse League. Before college, Dalton was a member of the 2004 All-Tewaaraton Team for the Baltimore/Washington area. The newspapers, Baltimore Sun and Washington Post named him first team all-Metro. He was the 2004 Baltimore Sun Anne Arundel County Player of the Year, making him the third straight St. Mary's player to win the honor. The Baltimore Sun also picked Dalton for first team all-county. In high school, Dalton won 71 percent of face-offs as a senior. He scored 22 goals and added seven assists despite being double and triple-teamed almost every time he touched the ball. Dalton was also all-county and all-metro as a junior and scored 24 goals and added 10 assists while winning 72 percent of his face-offs in 2003.

Maryland Terrapins mens lacrosse

The Maryland Terrapins men's lacrosse team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I lacrosse as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Maryland was a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference before withdrawing after the 2014 season.

Dave Cottle is an American lacrosse coach. He is currently head coach of the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse and also a consultant for Marquette University, which announced it was adding men's and women's varsity lacrosse on December 16, 2010. He was previously the head coach for the Maryland Terrapins men's lacrosse team at the University of Maryland from 2002 to 2010. Cottle also coached the Loyola College men's lacrosse team from 1983 to 2001.

The Johns Hopkins–Maryland lacrosse rivalry is an intercollegiate rivalry between the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, which represent Johns Hopkins University, and the Maryland Terrapins, which represent the University of Maryland. The most prominent event has been the men's lacrosse series, which is widely regarded as the greatest rivalry in the sport. More than 115 contests in the series have been played since the schools first met in 1895. The competition is intensified by each program's status as a traditional lacrosse powerhouse. As such, the game has often held national championship implications, and twice the teams played to represent the United States in the Olympics.

2010 NCAA Division I Mens Lacrosse Championship

The 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 40th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Sixteen teams were selected to compete in the tournament based upon their performance during the regular season, and for some, a conference tournament. The championship game took place on May 31, Memorial Day, between the Duke Blue Devils and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, with the latter making their first appearance in the NCAA final. Duke won in overtime, 6–5, to capture their first men's lacrosse championship in school history.

Donald Zimmerman is a television analyst and former American college lacrosse coach. He became a color analyst for ESPN in May 2016 and does both high school and college lacrosse games. Prior to becoming an analyst, he served as the head coach for the UMBC Retrievers at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County for 24 years. Between 1984 and 1987, Zimmerman coached Johns Hopkins to three national championships. Zimmerman was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017.

The Johns Hopkins–Loyola lacrosse rivalry is an intercollegiate lacrosse rivalry between Baltimore City's Johns Hopkins Blue Jays and Loyola Greyhounds. The teams first met in 1939, when Hopkins prevailed with a score of 20–1.

Peter Trombino lacrosse player

Peter Trombino is a retired lacrosse attackman who played professional field lacrosse in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) from 2007 to 2008. He starred as a member of the Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team from 2004 through 2007. He earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors, two United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American honorable mention recognitions and three All-Ivy League selections. During his college career, Princeton earned two Ivy League championships and three NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament invitations. In high school, he won a state championship in lacrosse and two league championships in American football.

The 2014 ACC men's and women's lacrosse conferences will include six teams, up from four in 2013. Notre Dame and Syracuse joined the ACC in July 2013. This will be the only year that the ACC men's lacrosse conference will include these six teams as Maryland will leave the ACC for the Big Ten at the end of the 2014 season. The finalists from the 2013 NCAA championship game are in the ACC conference in 2014, Duke and Syracuse. Additionally, all six teams are included in the Top 10 of the Lacrosse Magazine preseason ranking. The 2014 ACC men's lacrosse conference includes teams that have won 23 national championships and have 45 appearances in the title game in the 42-year history of the NCAA Championship.

The 2008 Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represented the University of Maryland, College Park during the 2008 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The team won its third NCAA College Cup title, and their first since 2005. The team included several future professional players, most notably, Graham Zusi and Omar Gonzalez.

Stony Brook Seawolves womens lacrosse

The Stony Brook Seawolves women's lacrosse team represents Stony Brook University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college lacrosse. The team is a member of the America East Conference and play their home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York.

The 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 49th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse.
