Fox Sunday Night is the former branding of the Sunday night primetime lineup on the Fox network, which featured a mix of animated and live-action series. It ran between stints of Animation Domination.
The Sunday Funday block was created to replace Fox's Animation Domination block, acknowledging that the Sunday primetime schedule was no longer fully made up of animated shows. The block's final show was American Dad! , of which was the final episode to air on Fox before moving to TBS on September 21, 2014. [1] The initial lineup incorporated the remaining animated series from Animation Domination (including The Simpsons , Family Guy , and Bob's Burgers ) with the addition of Brooklyn Nine-Nine , which previously aired on Tuesday nights, and the new sitcom, Mulaney . [2] This marks the first time that Fox had regularly aired first-run live-action comedies on Sundays since 2005. Mulaney was cancelled in February 2015 and was replaced by mid-season replacement The Last Man on Earth .
On January 3, 2016, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was dropped from the Sunday Funday block and moved back to its original Tuesday night slot. The Last Man on Earth would then go on hiatus. In their place, new series Bordertown and Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life took their slots. [3] Ultimately, both series were cancelled after one season.
On September 25, 2016, Son of Zorn premiered at 8:30pm. [4] The series would be replaced by Making History on March 5, 2017.[ citation needed ] Both series would also be cancelled after one season.
Beginning with the 2017/18 season, the Sunday Funday block was dropped. Hereafter, the Sunday night lineup was simply referred to as "Fox Sunday". Ghosted premiered on October 1, 2017, but was cancelled after one season. On May 10, 2018, The Last Man on Earth was cancelled. The following day, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was picked up by NBC.
For the 2018/19 season, Rel premiered as a sneak preview on September 9, 2018.[ citation needed ] The series would also be cancelled after one season. A new season of Cosmos was set to premiere in the Spring, but was pulled. [5] Reruns of Last Man Standing , began airing in the 7PM hour.[ citation needed ]
Ahead of the 2019/20 season, Fox began promoting the return of the Animation Domination block, with new show Bless the Harts debuting that Fall. [6]

The Fox Broadcasting Company, commonly known simply as Fox and stylized in all caps as FOX, is an American commercial broadcast television network owned by Fox Corporation and headquartered in New York City, with master control operations and additional offices at the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles and the Fox Media Center in Tempe. Launched as a competitor to the Big Three television networks on October 9, 1986, Fox went on to become the most successful attempt at a fourth television network. It was the highest-rated free-to-air network in the 18–49 demographic from 2004 to 2012 and again in 2020, and was the most-watched American television network in total viewership during the 2007–08 season.
American Dad! is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series was moved to TBS in 2014 and continues to air new episodes to this day. American Dad! is the first television series made to premiere on Fox's Animation Domination block. The series premiered on February 6, 2005, following Super Bowl XXXIX, with the rest of the first season airing three months later beginning May 1, 2005. American Dad! is a joint production between Underdog Productions, Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television Animation and syndicated by 20th Television.

Nasim Pedrad is an American actress, comedian, writer, and singer. Pedrad was a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy and variety series Saturday Night Live from 2009 to 2014. She later went on to star in the Fox sitcoms Mulaney (2014–2015) and New Girl (2015–2018), the Fox horror comedy series Scream Queens (2015), and the TBS science fiction comedy series People of Earth (2017). The ninety-minute block and its content were primarily produced by Friends Night, a television animation studio headed by Adult Swim alumni Nick Weidenfeld, Hend Baghdady, and creative director Ben Jones —including its programs, along with interstitials and other content featured during its programming.

Mulaney is an American sitcom that aired on Fox from October 5, 2014, to February 15, 2015. Stand-up comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney created the show and starred as a fictionalized version of himself. At the beginning of each episode, and sometimes throughout, Mulaney would perform stand-up comedy to the studio audience. The show suffered from low ratings and poor critical reviews, and was cancelled in February 2015.
Bless the Harts is an American animated sitcom created by Emily Spivey for Fox's Animation Domination programming block. Premiering on September 29, 2019, the series is executive produced by Spivey, Andy Bobrow, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Kristen Wiig, and Seth Cohen. The series is a joint production between Fox Entertainment and 20th Television. The animation production is handled by Titmouse, Inc., with overseas animation services by Yearim and Digital eMation in Seoul, South Korea. The show's title is based on the Southern phrase "Bless your heart". Spivey and Bobrow served as co-showrunners for the series.
