The Humphrey Archeological Site, near Mullen in Hooker County, Nebraska, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

It was the site of a prehistoric village or camp. The archeological site is designated by Smithsonian trinomial of 25 HO 21.

It is a village site which is one of only two known in the Sandhills to show evidence of corn cultivation. [2]

It was named for archeologist Humphrey. [3]

The building historically served as a meeting hall for the Czech community, hosting a Zapadni Ceska Bratrska Jednota (ZCBJ) lodge that was the oldest Czech fraternal order in Nebraska. The lodge was originally organized as a branch of the Czech-Slovak Protective Society, but was incorporated into the ZCBJ in 1897.

F. A. Henninger American architect

Frederick A. Henninger (1865–1944), commonly known as F. A. Henninger, was a leading architect of Omaha, Nebraska. He was born in 1865 at Albia, Iowa, and attended the Chicago Art Institute. He moved from Chicago to Lincoln, Nebraska, and in 1891 to Omaha. He worked as a draftsman for an architect in 1895 and purchased the practice in 1896. He worked as an architect in Omaha until his retirement in 1937. After retiring, he moved to Pasadena, California and died there in 1944.

Lincoln Construction Co.

The Lincoln Construction Company was an American construction company in Nebraska. The company built several bridges in Nebraska between 1913 and 1916. A state engineer, after inspecting one of the company's bridge, found that "the workmanship as a whole was decidedly poor" and recommended suspending all payments on the bridge until the "poor appearance" was remedied. Company president, W.S. Collett, stated that the company's experience in the bridge business had been "more or less disastrous, from a financial point... which leads me to the conclusion that I had better quit while my credit remains good."

Greenwood Stage Station United States historic place

The Greenwood Stage Station was a historic stagecoach stop located in what is now rural Morrill County, Nebraska. It was the second stage station on the Sidney-Black Hills Trail, when coming north from the Union Pacific railroad at Fort Sidney, Nebraska, on the way to gold mining fields in South Dakota. It played a significant role along the trail, serving travellers as a hotel, restaurant, and stable, as well as furnishing fresh horses for stagecoaches.
