IndyCar Series is a racing simulator developed by Codemasters. [1] The game was released in 2003 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. The game is based on the 2002 Indy Racing League. A sequel to the game, IndyCar Series 2005 , was released in 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Windows based on the 2003 IndyCar Series. For PC, the recommended requirements are Windows 98, Millennium, 2000 and XP, but the game also works with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Gameplay

The gameplay features racing on oval circuits with an IndyCar single-seater car. Players choose one team and compete in one of three modes (Quick Races, Championship, or Test Drive) around the official oval tracks from on the IndyCar 2003 calendar.

Drivers

The game features 26 drivers from the 2002 Indy Racing League. The driver list includes 24 of the regular teams and drivers along with two of the Indy 500 only entries from Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Team Green.

Reception

The game received "average" reviews on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. [2] [3] [4] Eurogamer 's Roman Jennings described the PlayStation 2 version not as open-wheel racing game as Formula One 2003 nor arcade like Burnout 2 , but as a well made racing sim game. [7]

<i>NASCAR Thunder 2004</i> 2003 video game

NASCAR Thunder 2004 is a racing simulator by EA Sports, released on September 16, 2003 and available in separate versions for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Windows. It features the 2002 champion Tony Stewart on the cover with a scowling look to represent the new Grudges and Alliances feature. It was the only game as of 2002 to feature the previous Winston Cup Champion on the cover. The game had the most extensive soundtrack of the series up from four songs from the previous game. The game also has a career mode, season mode, Lightning Challenge mode, SpeedZone, as well as a tutorial mode featuring Richard Petty. The game is an EA Sports Bio game, and is compatible with other EA Sports Bio games like Madden NFL 2004 and NCAA Football 2004. It is considered by many as the greatest NASCAR game of all time. This was also the last NASCAR game for the PlayStation.

<i>Battle Engine Aquila</i> 2003 video game

Battle Engine Aquila is a 2003 video game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox developed by Lost Toys and published by Infogrames Europe. In the game the player pilots the Battle Engine for the Forseti military in their wars against the Muspell to decide who will rule what's left of the world. Battle Engine Aquila received little attention from the public despite overall good reviews from critics. It was listed as #86 in the Top 100 Games for PlayStation 2 by IGN. A later Microsoft Windows port was published by Encore Software.

Test Drive Unlimited is a 2006 racing video game developed by Eden Games and published by Atari for Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Atari Melbourne House developed the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions. Being the eighteenth entry in the Test Drive series, Unlimited serves as a reboot of the franchise, discarding the continuity of the previous games. NASCAR Thunder 2003 is the sixth edition of the EA Sports' NASCAR racing simulator series. Developed by EA Tiburon and Budcat Creations and published by EA Sports. It was released for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox on September 19, 2002, and for Microsoft Windows on October 16. The product features Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the cover. It was the first time the NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award recipient was featured on the cover, although he did not win the award for the first time until the following year. Dale Earnhardt appeared in the game as a driver as a result of entering his name as a Create-A-Car driver's name; he did not appear in the previous game due to his death. He appeared as a legend in subsequent games.
