The Internal Shuttle Bus is a network of bus routes that operate within the National University of Singapore Kent Ridge campus and between the Kent Ridge and Bukit Timah campuses.
The system is operated by ComfortDelGro and is entirely free of charge. [1] [2] Route information and live bus tracking is available with the NextBus app. [3] The services are known for being extremely busy at peak times. [4] [5]
The buses used are Volvo B9Ls, [6] Zhongtong N12s and BYD B12s.
The NUS NextBus app was introduced in 2012. [7]
A driverless bus, dubbed the NUSmart Shuttle, was introduced as a trial in 2019. [8] It carried passengers until April 2020 when the service was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It continued operating without passengers until January 2021. [9]
In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the routes were altered to allow students at Kent Ridge MRT station to reach different areas of campus without mixing with each other. [10]
In July 2021, bus routes were changed. One major change was to services A1 and A2 which now terminate at Kent Ridge Bus Terminal instead of Prince George's Park residences. [11] In November 2021, it was announced that the contract with ComfortDelGro Bus had been renewed and that the entire fleet would be replaced with electric buses. The first electric buses are expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2022. [12]
There are several internal shuttle bus routes that run throughout NUS and link to both Kent Ridge MRT station and Botanic Gardens MRT station. There is also a bus route which links the Kent Ridge and Bukit Timah campuses and the Botanic Gardens MRT station. [13]

Clementi is a planning area and residential town located at the easternmost fringe of the West Region of Singapore. The town borders Bukit Batok to the north, Bukit Timah to the northeast, Queenstown to the east and Jurong East to the west.
Choa Chu Kang, alternatively spelled Chua Chu Kang and often abbreviated as CCK, is a planning area and residential town located at the northwestern point of the West Region of Singapore. The town shares borders with Sungei Kadut to the north, Tengah to the southwest, Bukit Batok to the southeast, Bukit Panjang to the east and the Western Water Catchment to the west. There are 352 scheduled bus services, operated by SBS Transit, SMRT Buses, Tower Transit Singapore and Go-Ahead Singapore. The newest bus operator, Go-Ahead Singapore started operation on 4 September 2016. There are also around 5,800 buses currently in operation as of 2020.

Bukit Batok, often abbreviated as Bt Batok, is a planning area and matured residential town located along the eastern boundary of the West Region of Singapore. Bukit Batok statistically ranks in as the 25th largest, the 12th most populous and the 11th most densely populated planning area in the Republic. It is bordered by six other planning areas - Choa Chu Kang to the North, northeast and northwest, Cashew to the northeast and east, Clementi to the south, Bukit Timah to the southeast, Jurong East to the southwest and Tengah to the west.
Bukit Panjang is a planning area and residential town located in the West Region of Singapore. A portion of this town is situated on a low-lying elongated hill. The planning area is bounded by Bukit Batok to the west, Choa Chu Kang to the northwest, Sungei Kadut to the north, the Central Water Catchment to the east and Bukit Timah to the south. Bukit Panjang New Town is located at the northern portion of the planning area. Bukit Panjang has an average elevation of 36m/118 ft.
Buona Vista is a housing estate located in the subzones of one-north and Holland Drive in the residential township of Queenstown in Singapore. The housing estate is served by the Buona Vista MRT station which links it up with the MRT system. It also has a bus terminal.
SMRT Buses is a bus operator in Singapore. A subsidiary of SMRT Corporation, it traded as Trans Island Bus Services until 10 May 2004.
Rail transport in Singapore mainly consists of a passenger urban rail transit system spanning the entire city-state: a rapid transit system collectively known as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system operated by the two biggest public transport operators SMRT Trains and SBS Transit, as well as several Light Rail Transit (LRT) rubber-tyred automated guideway transit lines also operated by both companies. Kent Ridge MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle Line (CCL). Located in the eponymous Kent Ridge of Queenstown, Singapore, the station is near the junction of South Buona Vista Road and Lower Kent Ridge Road. The station serves the National University Hospital and the National University of Singapore.
The City Shuttle Service was a network of bus services in Singapore between May 1975 and April 2007 by NTUC Comfort and Singapore Shuttle Bus. It was purchased by Trans-Island Bus Services, a former subsidiary of Singapore Shuttle Bus, in 1987.
King Albert Park MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Downtown Line (DTL) in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Located at the western end of Bukit Timah Road at the junction of Blackmore Drive, this station serves the private residential estates along the Bukit Timah corridor. Sites surrounding the station include the Methodist Girls' School and the preserved Bukit Timah Railway Station.
Hillview is located in Bukit Timah, Northwest Singapore. The neighbourhood overlooks Bukit Timah Hill, hence its name.
Hume MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit station located along the junction of Hume Ave and Upper Bukit Timah Road in the Hillview planning sub-zone of Bukit Batok, Singapore. It is an infill station and will be located near a number of Bukit Timah heritage sites: Bukit Timah Hill, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Former Bukit Timah Fire Station, Fuyong Estate, and Former Ford Factory. The station will have two platforms and will be between Beauty World and Hillview stations on the Downtown Line.
Bukit Panjang railway station was a railway station on the Singapore-Kranji Railway which served Bukit Panjang from 1903 to an unknown date.
The BYD B series are a line of battery electric buses produced by Chinese vehicle manufacturer BYD. It is the first bus model powered by BYD's Lithium Iron Phosphate Blade batteries. It is available as a 10-metre single-decker (B10), a 12-metre single-decker (B12) and as a 12-metre double-decker (B12D).
