Iran competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. The nation has competed at every Summer Olympic games, since its official debut in 1948 with the exception of the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympics. This would be the last Olympics Iran would take part in until the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, due to the Iran Civil Unrests two years later and the eventual outbreak of the Iran–Iraq War.

Dmitry Vyacheslavovich Mazunov is a Russian table tennis player. He won a bronze medal, along with his brother Andrey Mazunov, in the men's doubles at the 1991 World Table Tennis Championships in Chiba, Japan, representing the Soviet Union. As of January 2010, Mazunov is ranked no. 105 in the world by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). Mazunov is a member of TTF Liebherr Ochenhausen in Ochsenhausen, Germany, and is coached and trained by Mikhail Nosov. He is also right-handed, and uses the attacking grip.

Anthony Ang Kang Keam is a Malaysian former swimmer, who specialised in butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, a double SEA Games titleholder in a butterfly double, a Bolles School graduate, and a member of Florida State University (1998-1999) and University of Minnesota (2000-2002) swimming and diving team while studying in the United States.

Jan Kouwenhoven is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Kouwenhoven as crew in the Dutch Men's 470 with his twin brother Ben Kouwenhoven as helmsman took the 16th place. In 1996 Kouwenhoven returned to the Olympics in Savannah, Georgia. Again with his brother, Kouwenhoven took 24th place in the Men's 470.

Ben Kouwenhoven is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Kouwenhoven as helmsman in the Dutch Men's 470 with his twin brother Jan Kouwenhoven as crew took the 16th place. In 1996 Kouwenhoven returned to the Olympics in Savannah, Georgia. Again with his brother, Kouwenhoven took 24th place in the Men's 470.
