Playing career
After his junior year playing for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, McInnis was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1996 NBA draft. He played three seasons for the Quad City Thunder of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) from 1997 to 2000. [3] He was selected as the CBA Newcomer of the Year and named to the All-CBA Second Team and All-Defensive Team in 1998. [3] He was chosen as the CBA Most Valuable Player and a member of the All-CBA First Team in 2000. [3]
All together, during his NBA career, McInnis would play for the Nuggets, the New Jersey Nets, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Washington Wizards.
For the 2005–06 season, the New Jersey Nets acquired McInnis, a free agent, mainly to back up star point guard Jason Kidd. McInnis played limited minutes, tore left-knee cartilage on January 15, and missed significant time. [4]
Ahead of his return for the 2006 playoffs, the Nets kept McInnis inactive. The team's attempts to negotiate a contract buyout or a trade before the new season were unsuccessful, leaving McInnis in limbo, on the roster but exiled, early in the 2006–07 season.
On January 3, 2007, the Charlotte Bobcats received McInnis from the Nets in trade for Bernard Robinson and cash considerations. McInnis, who would play 38 games for Charlotte, averaging 4.3 points and 3.3 assists per game, [5] was waived by the Bobcats on February 29, 2008. [6]

Stackhouse played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels and played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was a two-time NBA All-Star. He was the head coach of Raptors 905 and an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies. Additionally, he has worked as an NBA TV analyst.
Raymond Bernard Felton Jr. is an American former professional basketball player who played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Felton played college basketball for the University of North Carolina under head coach Roy Williams.
Sean Gregory May is an American former professional basketball player and current assistant basketball coach at the University of North Carolina. May was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Bloomington, Indiana. He was a three-time all-state selection at Bloomington High School North, and was at one time a teammate of former NBA player Jared Jeffries. May was named to the 2002 McDonald's High School All-American team. He played in the 2002 McDonald's game with Raymond Felton and Rashad McCants, who would later team with May to win an NCAA Championship as part of the 2004–05 North Carolina Tar Heels.
Rashad Dion McCants is an American former professional basketball player who has played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as well as overseas. He played for Trilogy in the BIG3 three-on-three league.
Brendan Todd Haywood is an American former professional basketball player who was a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Following his playing career, Haywood became a college basketball announcer for CBS Sports and a co-host/analyst on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

The UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball team represents the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The team plays in the Coastal Athletic Association. They won the CAA tournament and appeared in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments in 2016 and 2017.
