The deputy president of Kenya is the second-highest political official in the Kenyan government. The deputy president is the principal assistant of the president and deputises for the president in executive functions. Prior to the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, the deputy president was known as the vice president. While the vice president was appointed by the president, the deputy president is elected as part of a joint ticket with the president of Kenya. Gideon Kipsielei Towett Moi is a Kenyan politician and former senator in the Senate of Kenya, representing Baringo County, from 2013 to 2022. The United Democratic Movement (UDM) is a political party that was founded in 1999 by politicians who were at the time considederd to be renegades from the then ruling party Kenya African National Union but was denied registration by the then head of state Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi and most of its then leaders went to other parties by the time of the 2002 general elections.

Ndindi has been rated as among the best performing Members of Parliament in Kenya.
General elections were held in Kenya on 9 August 2022. Voters elected the President, Deputy president, Governors, Senators, members of the National Assembly, Women Representatives and Members of the County Assemblies of Kenya.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the ruling political party in Kenya. The party, initially called the Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. Kenya Kwanza, abbreviated KK is a political alliance headed by William Ruto. Ruto is the presidential candidate and Rigathi Gachagua is the deputy presidential candidate of the alliance. It is composed of UDA, Amani National Congress, FORD–Kenya and many other political parties for the 2022 Kenyan general election.
Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua also known as Rigathi Gachagua is a Kenyan politician who is serving as the 12th and current Deputy President of Kenya since September 2022.
The inauguration of William Ruto as the 5th President of Kenya was held on 13 September 2022. Ruto won a tightly contested election in the 2022 Kenyan general election against his long time opponent Raila Odinga. After the court upheld the election results, Tuesday, 13 September 2022 was declared a public holiday and a day set for the inauguration. The venue for the inauguration was the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi. Attendance was very high, with many crowds getting into fights with security officials to be able to enter the stadium, however, the event continued peacefully.
