Lauren Nicole Carlini (born February 28, 1995) is an American volleyball player. She plays for the United States women's volleyball team. She won the 2016 Sullivan Award as America's best amateur athlete.
Lauren was raised in an Italian-American family in Illinois. [1] She played for University of Wisconsin. [2] While at Wisconsin, Carlini was named as one of the four finalists for the Honda Sports Award in volleyball for both the 2014–15 season as well as the 2015–16 season. [3] [4] [5] [6]
On a club level, she plays for THY. [7]
In May 2021, she was named to the 18-player roster for the FIVB Volleyball Nations League tournament. [8] that was played May 25-June 24 in Rimini, Italy. It was the only major international competition before the Tokyo Olympics.
She was a selected as an Olympic alternate for the 2020 Summer Olympics. [9]
Logan Maile Lei Tom was an American indoor volleyball, beach volleyball player, and is current head coach of the Israel women's national volleyball team. She is a four-time Olympian at the outside hitter position. At age 19, Logan became the youngest woman ever to be selected for an American Olympic volleyball team when she competed at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She is a skilled all-around player who brings stability to the American serve receive and defense, while also providing the team with a solid attack and block at the net. She had been a huge part of the national team from 2000 to 2012. At the 2008 Olympics, Tom helped Team USA win a silver medal and was named Best Scorer, she won another silver medal at the 2012 Olympics with the national team. She was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix.
Kimberley Yvette "Kim" Oden is a former USA National volleyball player. She was part of the United States women's national volleyball team.
Foluke Atinuke Gunderson is an indoor volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for Japanese club Hisamitsu Springs. Born in Canada, she represents the United States internationally. Gunderson won gold with the national team at the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix, 2014 World Championship, the Rimini Volleyball Nations League, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, silver at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Her 2020 Olympics win allowed her to complete the trifecta of winning an Olympic bronze, silver, and gold medal.
Danielle Racquel Scott-Arruda is an American-Brazilian indoor volleyball player. She has played at the 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics, breaking a U.S. female volleyball athlete record for Olympic appearances. She's currently playing professionally for Brazilian league Banana Boat/Praia Clube. Scott-Arruda carried the flag for her native country at the opening ceremony of the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Honda Sports Award is an annual award in the United States, given to the best collegiate female athlete in each of twelve sports. Harmotto won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship, silver at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and bronze at the 2015 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions. She married Men’s Beach Volleyball player Bradley Keenan in 2010. They divorced in 2018.
