Telugu cinema consisting of films in the Telugu language. It is one of the largest film production centres in India. In 1957, the film Mayabazar starring N. T. Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao became the first telugu film to gross one crore. The 1992 film Gharana Mogudu , directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and starring Chiranjeevi, is the first Telugu film to collect a share of ₹10 crore at the box office. [1] In 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning became the first Telugu film to cross ₹500 crore. Its 2017 sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became the first Indian and Telugu film to cross ₹1000 crore.

Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, known mononymously as Prabhas, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Telugu cinema. Referred to in the media as the "Rebel Star" and "Darling", he is one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema. Prabhas has been featuring in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list since 2015 and has received seven Filmfare Awards nominations, a Nandi Award, and a SIIMA Award.
Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli is an Indian director and screenwriter who works primarily in Telugu cinema. He is known for his epic, action and fantasy genre films. He is the highest grossing Indian director of all time, as well as the highest-paid director in India. He is a recipient of various national and international honours including a New York Film Critics Circle award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award, two Saturn Awards, and four National Film Awards. In 2016, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, for his contributions in the field of art. In 2023, he was included on the Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Saaho is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film directed by Sujeeth and produced by UV Creations and T-Series. The film, shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, stars Prabhas in the title role, alongside Shraddha Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Arun Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Murali Sharma, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Prakash Belawadi, Tinnu Anand, Evelyn Sharma, Supreeth, Devan and Vennela Kishore. The film, which marks Prabhas' Hindi film debut and Shraddha Kapoor's Telugu film debut, revolves around two undercover officers, searching for a mastermind responsible for stealing ₹2,000 crore. They soon realise that the case is linked to the death of a prominent business tycoon and an emerging gang war for the control of a megalopolis.
RRR is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language epic period action drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the film with V. Vijayendra Prasad. It was produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan alongside an ensemble cast with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris playing supporting roles. It is a historical fiction film of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem, their friendship, and their fight against the British Raj.

Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language epic action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The film stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Sriya Reddy, John Vijay, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Ramachandra Raju, Brahmaji, Devaraj, Mime Gopi, Saurav Lokesh, Vajrang Shetty and Pramod Panju. Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, where monarchy still exists. The film follows the friendship between Deva (Prabhas), the exiled prince of Khansaar, and Varadha (Prithviraj), the current prince of Khansaar. When a coup d'état is planned by his father's ministers and his relatives, Varadha enlists Deva's help to become Khansaar's undisputed ruler.
Pan-Indianfilm is a term related to Indian cinema that originated with Telugu cinema as a mainstream commercial cinema appealing to audiences across the country with a spread to world markets. S. S. Rajamouli pioneered the pan-Indian films movement with duology of epic action films Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), that changed the demography of Indian cinema. The term "pan-Indian film" is used for a film that is simultaneously marketed and released in multiple languages across India – Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Such films make an attempt to appeal to the audiences across the country, cutting across the linguistic, regional and cultural barriers.

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam was made on a budget of around Rs300-350 crores. However, the film failed at the box office and collected just Rs 200 crore.
