This is list of mayors of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Guelph was founded April 23, 1879 and incorporated as a town on January 1, 1856. Guelph officially became a city on April 23, 1879. [2] [3]

Chain of office

Since 1967, each sitting mayor has been honoured and presented with the chain of office to wear during their term of office. It is to be worn at city council meetings and other formal functions. The chain contains 17 shields engraved with subjects of local significance. The chain is also engraved with the names of the mayors who have worn it since it was commissioned. There are currently seven names of previous mayors engraved on the chain. [4]

2006 Ontario municipal elections

In the 2006 municipal elections in Ontario, voters in the province of Ontario, elected mayors, councillors, school board trustees and all other elected officials in all of Ontario's municipalities. These elections were regulated by the Municipal Elections Act of Ontario.

City of Townsville Local government area in Queensland, Australia

The City of Townsville is a local government area (LGA) located in North Queensland, Australia. It encompasses the city of Townsville, together with the surrounding rural areas, to the south are the communities of Alligator Creek, Woodstock and Reid River, and to the north are Northern Beaches and Paluma, and also included is Magnetic Island. Michael Hart (mayor)

Michael Brannan Hart was the publican of the White Hart Hotel in Christchurch, New Zealand, that stood on the corner of High and Cashel Streets. It was Christchurch's first hotel. Hart, originally from Freshford, Somerset, England, was one of the first settlers of Christchurch. He was a colourful character and stood for elections to the Canterbury Provincial Council and Parliament, but was unsuccessful. He was elected onto Christchurch City Council in 1869, and was chosen as Mayor of Christchurch 1873–1874 by his fellow councillors. He gave the first chain to the Christchurch mayoral chain. He was the first mayor to wear regalia, modelled on the robes of the Lord Mayor of London. He intended to leave the robes to Christchurch City Council, but after a disagreement, he changed his will and the robes were buried with him.

Cam Guthrie is a Canadian politician, currently serving as Mayor of Guelph, Ontario since December 1, 2014. In the October 22, 2018 municipal election, he was re-elected mayor for a second term.

Elections to Liverpool City Council were held on Tuesday 1 November 1881. One third of the council seats were up for election, the term of office of each councillor being three years.
