The Kharkiv University or KarazinUniversity, or officially V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, is one of the major universities in Ukraine, and earlier in the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. It was founded in 1804 through the efforts of Vasily Karazin becoming the second oldest university in modern-day Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Super Cup is an association football game of the Ukrainian Premier League in traditional super cup format that acts as the grand-opening for every new football competition season in Ukraine. Originally it was set as a contest between the winners of the previous season's Ukrainian Championship and Ukrainian Cup. Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University (Vasyl Stus DonNU) (Ukrainian: Донецький національний університет імені Василя Стуса, romanized: Donetskyi natsionalnyi universytet imeni Vasylia Stusa; Russian: Донецкий национальный университет имени Васыля Стуса, romanized: Donetskiy natsionalnyy universitet imeni Vasylya Stusa) is one of the leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The university's history starts in 1937 from the moment of the creation of a pedagogical institute in Donetsk (then Stalino). In 1965, the institute was transformed into Donetsk State University. It was accorded the National status in 2000.
Odesa I. I. Mechnykov National University, often referred to as Odesa National University, located in Odesa, Ukraine, is one of the country's major universities, named after the scientist Élie Metchnikoff, a Nobel prizewinner in 1908. The university was founded in 1865 by an edict of Tsar Alexander II of Russia, which reorganized the Richelieu Lyceum of Odesa into the new Imperial Novorossiya University. In the Soviet era, the university was renamed Odesa I. I. Mechnykov State University.
State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute" is a university located in Kyiv, Ukraine. It started in 1933 when the Kyiv Aviation Institute was founded on the basis of the mechanical department of Kyiv Machine-Building Institute. The university consists of five institutes, ten separate faculties, two lyceums, six colleges and Military Training Department. The university has its own Culture and Arts Center, Aviation Medical Center, Flight Training Center, Training and Sports Wellness Center,Scientific and Technical Library, “Aviator” newspaper and a yacht club. The university also supports the State Aviation Museum.

State University of Economics and Technology (SUET), also in the past known as Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics (KEI), located in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine was founded in 1966 as a branch of Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade. In 1977, it became a branch of Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) (also it did later in 2016). In 2011, it became part of Kryvyi Rih National University (KNU). Then, in 2020 it was finally reestablished as SUET.

Drohobych State Pedagogical University of Ivan Franko or Drohobych University is the only university of Lviv region located outside city of Lviv, Ukraine. It was first established as Franz Joseph I Drohobych State gymnasium in 1858, transforming into institute and later - into university. It is the alma mater of many Ukrainian artists, politicians and scientists.

Mykhailo Andriiovych Holubets was a Ukrainian state and political figure, a member of the first convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor, and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU). He was laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology. Holubets served as the vice-president of the Forestry Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and held the position of honorary director of the NASU Institute of Ecology of the Carpathians. He also was an honorary doctor of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
