The Luxembourg national badminton team represents Luxembourg in international badminton team competitions. [1] The national team trains under the Luxembourg Badminton Federation, which is headquartered in Kirchberg, Luxembourg City.

Contents

The Luxembourgish team competed in the Sudirman Cup seven consecutive times from 1997 to 2009 after the national team failed to qualify for the team event. The mixed team also made its debut in the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships in 2013. The men's team competed in the 2020 European Men's Team Badminton Championships but were eliminated in the group stages.

The coach for the Luxembourg team, Elena Nozdran competed in the BWF World Senior Championships and won a bronze medal in the women's singles 40+ category.

The Sudirman Cup is an international badminton mixed team competition contested by member countries of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1989. It used to be held at the same venue for the World Championships in the same year until the International Badminton Federation decided to split the two tournaments starting from 2003. There are five matches in every Sudirman Cup tie which consists of men and women's singles, men and women's doubles and mixed doubles. The cup is named after Dick Sudirman, a former Indonesian badminton player and the founder of the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI). The current champion is China, which won its 12th title at the 2021 tournament in Finland.

He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Zilberman is the first Israeli player to win a medal at the European Badminton Championships.
