Marjorie Lea Larney (born January 4, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York is a retired American track and field athlete known for throwing events. She represented the United States in the javelin throw at the 1952 Olympics, finishing 13th after being in 8th place after the qualifying round. She was only 15 years old at the time. She returned to the Olympics in 1956 to place 11th. [1] Later she attended Queens College. She won the National Championships in the javelin five times, in 1952 and 1957–60, [2] as well as the 1952 Olympic Trials, by almost 3 meters (10 feet). She also won the National Championships in the discus throw in 1954 and was the first American in 1955. [3] She represented the Queens Mercurettes for most of her career. She won a silver medal in the javelin and a bronze medal in the discus at the 1959 Pan American Games. She had finished out of the medals at the 1955 Pan American Games.

Larney later moved to Oakland, California. She continued throwing into Masters age groups, setting the American W50 records in the shot put and discus multiple times, finally at the 1987 TAC National Championships in Springfield, Oregon in 1987. [4] Her discus record lasted until 1991, when it was improved by Vanessa Hilliard. [5]

Michael Hazle is a United States Olympian and National Champion Mike is also a former United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Combat Controller (CCT). He is a four-time silver medalist at the US outdoor championships (2007–2010), before he claimed his first National Championship in 2011. He also won a silver medal in his category at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Maren Elizabeth Seidler is a retired American track and field athlete. She dominated the shot put from the mid 1960s through 1980. She won the event at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships eleven times starting in 1967, including nine in a row from 1972 to 1980. She was the American champion indoors nine times, 1968-9, 1972, 1974-5 and 1977 to 1980. She won her event at the United States Olympic Trials four straight times 1968-1980, a feat only equalled by only one woman, Madeline Manning, Edwin Moses is the only man to achieve four. Jackie Joyner Kersee is the only woman who has won more events at the Olympic Trials, split between the long jump and heptathlon. She competed in the Olympics three times, making the final twice. Her 1980 selection was quashed by the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott. Seidler did however receive one of 461 Congressional Gold Medals created especially for the spurned athletes.

The USATF U20 Outdoor Championships, formerly known as the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships, is an annual outdoor track and field competition organized by USA Track & Field (USATF) which serves as the national championship for American athletes aged under 20. The competition is also used for American national team selection for the IAAF World U20 Championships in even-numbered years and the Pan American U20 Athletics Championships in odd-numbered years.

The USATF Masters Outdoor Championships is an annual track and field competition which serves as the national championship for the United States for athletes in masters age groups. Organized by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for the sport, the competition was first held in 1968. Athletes compete in 5-year age groups, beginning from 25 and up to 105. Traditionally limited to athletes over 35, a "pre-masters" group was introduced in 2020 to encourage post-collegiate athletes over 25 to continue competing.

The 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled to be held in Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from July 6–9, 2023. They will serve as USA Track & Field's (USATF) national championships in track and field for the United States. The 2023 USATF Junior Championships are also scheduled to be held at Hayward Field in Eugene from July 7–9, 2023. The results of the event will determine qualification for the 2023 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships and 2023 NACAC U18 and U23 Championships in Athletics.
