McGregor High School (MHS) is a public high school located in McGregor, Minnesota, United States. It is K-12 and houses about 500 students and 50 faculty. The school colors are black and white and the school mascot is Mercury, the Roman god of speed.

In 1997 it was discovered that the business manager and another employee of the school had been embezzling funds, leaving a deficit of about $550,000. To keep the school open, the community voted to raise property taxes, and in three years' time administrators managed to balance the budget. [3] They also raised money for large building projects including new classrooms and an auditorium.[ citation needed ]

Charles Burnham "Bud" Wilkinson was an American football player, coach, broadcaster, and politician. He served as the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1947 to 1963, compiling a record of 145–29–4. His Oklahoma Sooners won three national championships and 14 conference titles. Between 1953 and 1957, Wilkinson's Oklahoma squads won 47 straight games, a record that still stands at the highest level of college football. After retiring from coaching following the 1963 season, Wilkinson entered into politics and, in 1965, became a broadcaster with ABC Sports. He returned to coaching in 1978, as head coach of the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) for two seasons. Iona McGregor was a Scottish author and teacher best known for her written work and her contributions to gay rights activism, especially from the 1970's onwards. She worked with the Scottish Minorities Group in Glasgow to help create safe social spaces for women, and to develop the Edinburgh Befriending Service for people who were members of the LGBT community. In later life, she was an active member of Edinburgh U3A. She was a full time teacher, and so had to keep her activism work and personal life a secret in order to avoid losing her job. She was a member of the Scottish PEN and wrote novels and non-fiction, especially about Scottish history.
