Scott Zhang, performing under the stage name Monsune, is a Canadian indie pop and synthpop musician from Toronto, Ontario. [2] He is noted for his 2019 single "Mountain", which was a nominee for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in 2020. [3] However in recent years is his song "OUTTA MY MIND" (which has amassed over 30 million views on youtube) has gained him far more recognition and popularity.

Contents

Zhang released "Nothing in Return", his debut single as Monsune, in 2017. [4] He followed up with the EP Tradition in 2019. [1] Other notable work includes co-producing "Race My Mind" from Drake's sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy , [5] and "Saturn" from SZA's second studio album re-issue, Lana. [6]

When he launched his music career, he was a student in radio and television arts at Ryerson University. [7]

Aubrey Drake Graham, known mononymously as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer and actor. Mo Kenney is a Canadian singer/songwriter based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Catching the ear of noted Canadian rocker Joel Plaskett while still in school, Kenney released their first album in 2012, which Plaskett produced. Jessica Reyez is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Her 2016 single "Figures" peaked at number 58 on the Canadian Hot 100 in 2017 and was certified triple Platinum by Music Canada and Platinum by the RIAA. Her 2017 EP, Kiddo, led to four nominations at the 2018 Juno Awards, winning Breakthrough Artist. Her follow up EP, Being Human in Public, was released in 2018. It won R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2019 Juno Awards and was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. "Blind" is a song by American singer-songwriter SZA from her second studio album, SOS (2022). It is a beatless R&B and folk-pop song, featuring an orchestral production that consists of acoustic guitars, violas, and trumpets. SZA's vocal performance combines a rap cadence and slow falsetto vocals, with added vocal runs. In the song, SZA explores the duality of love and muses on a former relationship, as she expresses her disappointment to a toxic past partner while also expressing her continued attraction to him. For the chorus, SZA admits her insecurities in spite of seeking validation through sex, feeling empty and unable to find self-love within herself as a result of a failed romance. "Blind" also incorporates several pop culture references to figures such as Bob Saget and Jesus.

Chris LaRocca is a Canadian rhythm and blues singer-songwriter from Woodbridge, Ontario. A songwriting collaborator with artists such as Bryson Tiller, Summer Walker and Kali Uchis, LaRocca released solo singles beginning in 2017, before releasing his full-length debut album i cried my eyes out in 2023.
