The SOCAN Songwriting Prize, formerly known as the ECHO Songwriting Prize, is an annual competition recognizing the best in Canadian emerging music, both anglophone and francophone.

Scott Zhang, performing under the stage name Monsune, is a Canadian indie pop and synthpop musician from Toronto, Ontario. He is noted for his 2019 single "Mountain", which was a nominee for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in 2020. However in recent years is his song "OUTTA MY MIND" has gained him far more recognition and popularity.
Kaan Güneşberk, commonly anglicized Kaan Gunesberk, is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and composer. He is best known as a close collaborator of producer Frank Dukes, with whom he has penned hits for Post Malone and Camila Cabello ("Havana"). Among other awards, he was nominated for the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2020 for co-writing "Circles".
