Somaliland, officially the Republic of Somaliland, is a self-declared sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, internationally considered to be part of Somalia. The government of Somaliland regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which, as the briefly independent State of Somaliland, united in 1960 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland to form the Somali Republic.
The president of Somaliland is the head of state and head of government of Somaliland. There is no prime minister. The president is also commander-in-chief of the Somaliland Armed Forces. The president represents the Government of Somaliland. The first president of Somaliland was Abdirahman Ahmed Ali Tuur. The current office-holder is the 5th president Muse Bihi Abdi, since 13 December 2017. The President can serve a maximum of two five-year terms. The Republic of Somaliland regards itself as the successor state to the former British Somaliland Protectorate, which was an independent country for a few days in 1960 as the State of Somaliland.
Foreign relations of the Republic of Somaliland are the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland. The region's self-declaration of independence remains unrecognised by the international community.

Buhoodle, also known as Bohotle, is a city in the Togdheer region of Somaliland. It is a prominent border town for movements of goods to and from Somaliland and the Somali Region of Ethiopia. The surrounding district is rich in both livestock and fledgeling agriculture.
Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, also known as Farmaajo is a Somali politician who is the founder and chairman of the Tayo party and a candidate in the 2021 Somali presidential election. He was Prime Minister of Somalia for six months, from November 2010 until June 2011. He served a term as the 9th President of Somalia from 16 February 2017 and acting president since 8 February 2021. Since his presidential term expired on 8th February 2021, the federal state Presidents of Puntland and Jubaland and the Council of Presidential Candidates no longer recognise Mohamed as the President of Somalia, but he refuses to leave office, despite public protests in Mogadishu during which peaceful protesters have been shot and killed by government forces. International partners of Somalia, including UN, US, UK, and EU have said that they do not support an extension to Mohamed's mandate.
Musa Bihi Abdi is a Somaliland politician and former military officer who has been President of Somaliland since December 2017. During the 1970s, he served as a pilot in the Somali Air Force under the Siad Barre administration. In 2010, Bihi was appointed the Chairman of the ruling Kulmiye in the self-declared Republic of Somaliland. In November 2015, Bihi was selected as the party's Presidential Candidate at the 5th annual central committee convention.

The Civil Service Institute is a public institute located in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland. The institution was founded in 2005. The current president of the Institute is Guleid Saleban Hagog. The institute was primarily aimed to develop and improve the capacity of public institutions and to discharge an effective and equitable public service delivery to the public.
The State Printing Agency (SPA) is a Somaliland government agency established in 1997 by President Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal, it is responsible for publishing official documents of the various government agencies of Somaliland. The Manager who serves as the head of the SPA, is appointed by the President. The current Manager is Mohamoud Rageh Mohamed.

The National Intelligence Agency of Somaliland (NIA) is Somaliland's intelligence agency, established in 2012 by President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud and approved by the Parliament of Somaliland in 2013. The head of the agency is the Director General and is appointed by the president, the current head is Osman Limo.
