National Library of Somaliland or Silanyo National Library is the national library of Somaliland. It is located in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, and is the first and largest national library in Somaliland. [1]

The library was founded in December 2017 and is named after the former president of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud, who inaugurated the library. [2]

In the 1980s, he joined the Somali National Movement. Before being appointed as the chief of staff, he was head of Mercy Corps in Somaliland.

Dr. Mohammad Abdullahi Omar is a Somalilander politician. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland. He was appointed to the position on July 28, 2010 by the region's incumbent President Ahmed Mahamoud Silanyo. Following a cabinet reshuffle on June 25, 2013, Omar was replaced as Foreign Minister by Mohamed Bihi Yonis. Omar subsequently served as Somaliland's Minister of Commerce until May 20, 2014, when he was dismissed from the position by presidential decree following an internal dispute over leadership succession within the ruling Peace, Unity, and Development Party (Kulmiye) party.

Odanleh, also spelt Odenleh is a town in Buhoodle District, in the Togdheer region of Somaliland.

Ahmed Abdi Mohamud Sugulle "Habsade" is a Puntland and Somaliland politician. He was a decorated Colonel in the Somali Armed Forces and the second in command of the Somali Custodial Corps equivalent to that of the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri but the Custodial Corps fall under the Ministry of the Interior and are part of the Police Force. A politician and respected elder later in life (he was instrumental in the founding of Somaliland and became the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives. In 1998, he was appointed Minister of the Interior of Puntland but was dismissed in 2007 after a conflict with Mohamud Muse Hersi, who became President of Puntland in 2006. In 2007, he brought Somaliland troops into Las Anod, leading to Somaliland's effective control of the Sool region. He served as various Somaliland Ministers of state from 2008. In 2014, Abdiweli Gaas became President of Puntland and he come back to Puntland.

Hassan Ali Abokor was first chief of staff of the Somaliland Armed Forces. As of 2024, he is the only national military commander who is not Habr Awal branch.
