The Ontario Rugby Union (ORU) also known as Rugby Ontario [1] is the provincial governing body for the sport of rugby union in the Canadian province of Ontario and a Provincial Union of Rugby Canada. Rugby Ontario governs various levels of rugby (Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Senior, Masters, Non-contact).

High Performance Program

Rugby Ontario is represented on the National stage by the Ontario Blues. This program includes 15's teams at the following ages: U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and Senior; which compete at the Canadian Rugby Championship in championship and festival divisions. The Senior Men's side competes for the MacTier Cup. Also included in Rugby Ontario's provincial program are 7s teams at the U18 level, who compete for the Canadian Rugby U18 7s National Championships.

Representation at the national level

The Rugby Ontario program and its clubs have produced ten High Performance players currently on the Rugby Canada National Men's Team (XVs); 12 High Performance players currently on the Rugby Canada National Women's Team (XVs); five High Performance players currently on the Rugby Canada National Men's Sevens Team; and eight High Performance players currently on the Rugby Canada National Women's Sevens Team.

Senior Men's and Women's Competition

There are ten men's competitions which are sanctioned by the ORU. The Marshall Premiership and Championship are contested by the best teams from the Toronto Rugby Union and the Niagara Rugby Union, and feature promotion and relegation. The lower leagues are run by the branch unions. The winners of the TRU and NRU compete in the Intermediate Cup against the lowest placed team in the Marshall Championship to determine who will play in the Championship the following year.

The Lethbridge Pronghorns, are the athletic teams that represent the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. They have men's and women's teams that compete in U Sports basketball, rugby union, soccer, swimming, and track and field. Previously, they competed in ice hockey until 2020. They are named after the pronghorn.

Nomads Rugby One of Canadas oldest rugby clubs

The Toronto Nomads Rugby Club is one of Canada's oldest rugby clubs. The Toronto Nomads are one of six clubs that formed the Toronto Rugby Union and the Ontario Rugby Union in 1950. Training in downtown Toronto, the Toronto Nomads boast three senior men's teams, one senior women's and seven junior squads, running from minis to U18. The senior men's team currently play in the Marshall Championship, the senior division of Ontario Rugby Union.

The USA Women's National Team XVs is the senior national team for the United States in the 15-a-side version of rugby. The team was officially formed in 1987 and is nicknamed the Eagles.

Womens international rugby union

Women's international rugby union has a history going back to the late 19th century but it was not until 1982 that the first international fixture involving women's rugby union took place. The match was organised in connection with the Dutch Rugby Union's 50th anniversary. As part of the celebrations on June 13, 1982 the French national women's team played the Dutch, in Utrecht, Netherlands, with France winning 4–0 in a game that has since been recognised as the first ever women's international rugby union match.

Abbey Park High School High school in Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Abbey Park High School, commonly referred to as APHS, is a secondary school located in the town of Oakville, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area. Abbey Park High School was opened at its present location in the wake of the closure of Queen Elizabeth Park High School, which was previously operating at its Bridge Road location, in Bronte. Abbey Park has more resources available to its students than other schools in the region because it inherited Queen Elizabeth Park's resources when it was closed. This allowed for the initial opening budget to be spent on new equipment. Students have open access to a weight room, home economics kitchen, library, and track. Ontario Blues

The Ontario Blues are the senior men's representative rugby team for Ontario. They were founded in 2009 to compete in the Americas Rugby Championship against other representative teams from Canada, Argentina, and the United States. In their inaugural season, the Blues suffered narrow losses against British Columbia and the Wolf Pack before defeating the Rock to advance to the Canadian Final. The Blues would again lose to BC, but defeated the U.S. Selects in the bronze medal match.

Canadian Rugby Championship

The Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC) was a Canadian amateur rugby union competition, partially funded by the World Rugby. It was the highest level of men's domestic rugby in Canada. Four representative teams from regions across Canada competed for the MacTier Cup. The CRC was started in 2009 by Rugby Canada and was held annually from August to September. Rugby Canada also held CRC tournaments for under-19 men, under-20 women, and senior women.

Ajax Wanderers R.U.F.C.

Ajax Wanderers R.U.F.C. are a rugby union club that is based in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. The Senior men's team currently runs two teams with the top XV squad competing in the Ontario Marshall Provincial division. the 2012 season saw the men win both the 1st division and second division granting them promotion to the Ontario Marshall Premier division for the 2013 season. The Wanderers also run programme for all age groups and genders. The Following Programs are running for the 2014 season;

Rhys Edwards is a Level 4 Rugby Union coach. He is currently Director of Rugby at Loughborough University, overseeing all Rugby Union activities for both the Men's and Women's programmes. Between 2010-2016 he coached the WRU Women National Rugby Union Squad who competed in the Six Nations Championship and World Rugby Women's World Cup in 2014.

Polish Rugby Union, abbreviated to PZR, is the only legal Polish representative of Polish rugby union and rugby sevens for both men and women's rugby and all age groups.

Richelle Aiko Simpson is a retired Canadian artistic gymnast and current acrobat for the renowned Cirque du Soleil company. An elite level gymnast for five years, representing the Canadian National Team at both Pan American Games and the World Championships competitions during that period, Simpson enjoyed her career highlights as an NCAA collegiate student-athlete – competing as a member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's gymnastics program. She remains one of the program's finest ever gymnasts, holding a total of four individual school records. Additionally, she was the first Nebraska gymnast to receive first-team All-American awards in all five events, and is one of only two Nebraska gymnasts to win an NCAA National all-around title – an accomplishment she achieved in 2003.
