Jack (Ray Liotta) awakes with amnesia in the middle of the desert. Suffering from violent flashbacks, he finds his way to the home of reclusive artist Vicky Robinson (Gloria Reuben), who agrees to help him uncover his past. While Jack's flashbacks become more violent and vivid, the pieces of his past slowly come together. He remembers having a large sum of money, which is now missing. As his apparent associates catch up with him demanding to know the whereabouts of the stash, Jack realizes that they are not only after the money, but his life.

Malebolge is a large, funnel-shaped cavern, itself divided into ten concentric circular trenches or ditches. Each trench is called a bolgia. He was a professional championship Boxer in his day; as well as being the father of Matthew "Matt" Murdock (Daredevil) and his magically created twin brother Michael "Mike" Murdock, and the ex-husband of Maggie Murdock. Jack Murdock was murdered because of the local gangster, The Fixer's men when he refused to throw a fight for him in front of his son Matt, while Jack was working for The Fixer at the time as one of thugs in secret. After his Father is murdered, it inspires Matt to use hyper sense powers along with his Martial Arts training to avenge his father's murder as the Superhero Daredevil. Jack Murdock was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett. The character first appeared in Daredevil #1.
