Makian, known to local people as Mount Kie Besi, is a volcanic island, one of the Maluku Islands within the province of North Maluku in Indonesia. It lies near the southern end of a chain of volcanic islands off the western coast of the province's major island, Halmahera, and lies between the islands of Moti and Tidore to the north and Kayoa and the Bacan Group to the south. The island, which forms two districts within South Halmahera Regency of North Maluku Province, covers an area of 84.36 sq.km, and had a population of 12,394 at the 2010 Census, which rose to 14,000 at the 2020 Census. The official estimate as at mid 2022 was 13,833.

The seat of the regency government is at Tapaktuan.

It is located on the west side of the island of Sumatra. The regency covers an area of 1,882.99 square kilometres and according to the 2010 census had a population of 126,036; this rose to 140,366 at the 2015 Census, and to 150,775 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 155,046. The seat of the regency government is at Blangpidie.

The regency was created out of the former northeast districts of Pidie Regency on 2 January 2007. The seat of the regency government is at Meureudu. The regency covers an area of 952.11 square kilometres and had a population of 132,956 people at the 2010 Census and 158,397 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 162,771 - comprising 80,946 males and 81,825 females.

Central Bengkulu Regency is a regency of Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. It is located on the west coast of the island of Sumatra, and lies immediately to the north and the east of the adjacent city of Bengkulu. It was formed on 24 June 2008 by being split away from the neighbouring North Bengkulu Regency. It covers an area of 1,223.94 km2 and had a population of 98,333 at the 2010 census and 116,706 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 119,814. the administrative centre is at the town of Karang Tinggi.

Meranti Islands is an archipelago forming a regency (kabupaten) of Riau Province, and lies off the eastern coast of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. It was created on 19 December 2008 by the separating of this archipelago from the mainland regency of Bengkalis. The regency comprises the islands of Tebing Tinggi, Rangsang, Padang and Merbau, together with minor offshore islands, but does not include Bengkalis Island which is geographically part of the archipelago but remains within Bengkalis Regency. The principal town is Selat Panjang on Tebing Tinggi Island. The regency covers an area of 3,623.93 km2, and had a population of 176,290 at the 2010 Census and 206,116 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 213,532.
West Tanjung Jabung Regency is a regency of Jambi Province, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency was created on 4 October 1999 by the division of the then Tanjung Jabung Regency into eastern and western halves. It now has an area of 5,009.82 km2 and had a population of 278,741 as at the 2010 census and 317,498 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 326,530. The regency seat is Kuala Tungkal.
