Salahley District (Somali : Degmada Salaxley) is a District in the most Eastern part of the Maroodi Jeex Region in Somaliland. Its capital lies at Salahlay. [1]
In September 2022, water with traces of crude oil was collected while drilling a well in Salahley. [2] the district is wholly dominated by the Eidagale sub-clan of the Isaaq clan famliy.
Sool is an administrative region (gobol) in eastern Somaliland. It borders Togdheer to the west, Sanaag to the north, Ethiopia to the south and Nugal, Bari to the east. Its capital city is Las Anod. The region is disputed by the self-declared Republic of Somaliland and SSC-Khatumo. The region is partially controlled by both polities.
