Saverio Imperato FRPSL (31 March 1935 - 20 November 2020) was an Italian immunologist and award-winning philatelist.

Early life and family

Saverio Imperato was born on 31 March 1935. [1] [2] He married Luisa. [3]

Career

Imperato was an immunologist, microbiologist, and pathologist [2] at the University of Genoa. [4]

Philately

He was awarded six Grands Prix, 60 Large Gold medals and 19 Gold medals in competitive philately. [5] [6] He was president of the Grand Prix Club from 1989 to 1992. [7] He was a fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society London. [1]

Death

Imperato died on 20 November 2020. [5]

He frequently served as a judge at international exhibitions and in 1966 was invited to sign the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists; Bojanowicz was one of very few professional philatelists to be accorded this honour.
